I've never shot a gun before but aren't spent bullet casings kind of hot? What if the driver accelerated hard and the casings rolled in and burned you, lol. Someone needs to come up with a bullet casing deflector mod for that.

Those casings are definitely a bit on the warm side. Yes, they can burn you if they land on bare skin. It's a part of the game.

They do make dump tubes for them but they aren't very good for a vehicle mounted turret system though.

There's a good chance this scrub might have been armed at the time which reasserts that an armed response might have been a bad idea.

Chance — who has 21 prior arrests for charges ranging from drugs to robbery to gun possession — was ordered held in lieu $100,000 bond or $75,000 cash.

In addition to gang assault, he was charged with assault, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful imprisonment.

I'm not sure I understand though... I thought criminals obeyed the law.

With that mentality, why even bother conceal carrying? Why have it if you're afraid to use it? For all you know that thug could have even pulled a gun and used it. Why wait for him to shoot first? In my opinion, that guy was fighting for his life the second all the bikers started surrounding his car trying to get him to stop. He felt threatened enough to run them over so he obviously felt like he was fighting for his life. That was a PERFECT time to arm up and put those fawkers down!

I know that there are a lot of people who don't see things my way. I'm not saying that my way is the one and only way. There is no one and only way to handle any situation like that. I don't think that you guys are wrong with your suggestions and I don't think that the driver of the SUV did anything wrong. The worst thing you can do is nothing and at least he reacted and did what he could. I'm simply implying that my tactics would have been quite a bit different and I wouldn't have hesitated to draw my gun as soon as I felt that I was fighting for my life.

Eh, that can happen. I think you guys know where I stand on this matter and most self defense matters by now. I don't carry for the fun of it. In a perfect world it wouldn't be necessary... but that isn't reality of course. When it comes to numbers I think you have to approach it differently and make better use of your available resources.

I'm not so sure....the article [MENTION=3958]jwyshrek[/MENTION] linked listed several arrests and people with multiple charges pending. I'm willing to bet several of these guys will be convicted (possibly on lesser charges eventually), but the penalties will not be as harsh as many of us would like.

Someone needs to tell the bikers to keep their mouths shut. Doing interviews like this does not help their cause. If they seriously think any rational human is going to believe that they were somehow doing everyone else on the road a favor by trying to get this one car to slow down and act responsibly, they're crazy.
