Blower fan question

2016 SR5 premium here. When I turn the temp knob all the way clockwise, for heat, and turn the blower fan all the way up, I get a decent amount of airflow. But.....if I back the temp control off just one click, airflow increases substantially. Anyone else notice this???

I'm hesitant to believe something's broken. Have you carefully read the owner's manual on the HVAC system?

I may not be exactly right on with this.
But basically after the blower motor there are two chambers, one for the heater core the other for the a/c. Setting the temp knob to full heat will completely block airflow through the a/c side, leaving the blower motor running into back pressure from that chamber. Once you click it down one notch, it allows the a/c side to open up a little, relieving that back pressure by giving air in that chamber somewhere to go. The air in that chamber is not being chilled unless you have defrost or a/c on, so it's just adding a little ambient air back into the mix.
