Brilliant's Mod Thread

That sucks man... After my last experience there I'll also never be going back.

I personally know everyone at Torfab up in Mukilteo. Highly recommend giving them a call next time.

They'll have a booth at the rally.

You guys have experiences there? I only went down there since the forum recommended them. :(

2 months ago I too would have been (and probably was) singing their praises.

I took his coilovers and my shocks there soon after that and was told I'd have them back in a week.

Long story short, I got his coilovers back about a month later after a handful of missed deadlines/promised dates. They seemed to be okay.

My shocks I had to have re-re built by a local guy after one was just wrong, and the other started pissing oil everywhere.

ah... I remember you taking them down there. They had a pretty good price on the rebuild. I guess I should have followed up! I think I'll head up to snohomish for locker install.

Torfab is pretty far from me time wise with traffic.

Yeah... My first experience with the guys down there was EXCELLENT. I think they've just gotten too big for their breeches with the new expansion.

Stoked to see the 4Runner at the rally... And hear the difference from the headers.

Corder Marker Blinkers

I had seen this done before on the forum and wanted to mimic.

I found some bulb sockets on ebay, and picked up some multi element amber led bulbs. I extended pigtails added a jacket, spliced them into my bumper signals, and done. Very simple mod and will help me changed lanes safer.

Popped in the Hella HIDs I got in Friday. These are a bit fatter due to the trim and housing geometry. I confirmed the reflector is a different shape than the std micro DEs. These far far out perform DEs with the HID mod.

They definitely do outperform standard MicroDE's for distance lighting. I bought a set on ebay several years ago for a price I couldn't pass on.

Did you get a whole kit including ballasts? Mount them on a dry location or fab some enclosures, those Hella Gen 3's weren't designed to handle the elements.

Looks great Brilliant ! those puppy's better be amazing for the prices i see them selling on the interwebs!

20% tinted fronts and wade in channel guards

took the runner in to get front windows tint matched. Also picked up some in channel rain guards. The wade brand are pretty low profile and dont take too much from the clean look.

I got the kit and mounted the ballasts behind the bumper. I'll take your advice and read up on waterproofing them.

They are a bit much, but not many options that are compact.

Some cool stuff going on in here today- looks good.

I really like the look of my Wade rain guards, but about 1 in 5 times I use the auto-up feature on the drivers window it will go up, hit the top, and roll back down about 4 inches. Pretty annoying.

Next up you need to get some mud flaps to keep that fresh paint healthy...

Thanks! I am going to try some silicon lube and see if it solves it.

I have the highland mudflaps, had them for years, just haven't got them on. :)

Icom ham

placeholder till I get further...

pulled the seat, cut out the insulation pad, taped the carpet down, slit the carpet and ran the bracket underneath. Its tight, but it works fine under the seat. It does have the std bracket depth gap between the carpet and the radio. If it gets too warm, I'll cut the carpet section out, but shouldn't be needed.

Why this HAM, well it's remote head fits on the ashtray slot and its 50W, 15 more than popular Y units. More pics later. Waiting on fleabay stuff to finish this.

Antenna is going on the roof rack. Its a comet fold over.

Don't know how I could have missed your Mod thread!
Loving how all your clean mods and workmanship resulted a really nice and clean rig.
I'm hoping to adopt the look of your rig one day.
Looking forwards to following you as you mod on.

That's interested and sounds annoying. I have the Wade inserts and they've never done that. Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself.
