Bushwacker made fenders for the 5th gen!!

curious as to how these hold up to sun fading. the look is kind of growing on me.

I had the same brand on a truck and there was no sun fading at all. I've never seen a set on any vehicle faded from the sun come to think of it.

Ask [MENTION=124732]LawnDart[/MENTION]. He has the snorkel and was going to put the flares on but it i believe a lot of trimming would have to be done and even then it wasn't going to flow well.

Short answer? A lot of trimming. The Safari snorkel is only about 3/4-1" above the stock fender flare height.

Trimming isn't really the big deal, since you have to do that on the FJC's and Bushwackers, but rather the issue is visually it would have looked bad since it would have intersected/bisected a few of the bolt pockets.

I struggled with it a while since I really loved the look. And I get it and don't begrudge anyone from using them, it's just I didn't want to run spacers (i'm not a fan of spacers in general) to make them fit width wise, and I didn't want to mess with cutting them for the snorkel and end up with something that looked like a weird kloodge to get them to even fit.

This may or may not be a deal breaker because at this point it's a coin toss if the Safari Snorkel even comes out. If you want these flares maybe you roll the dice and cross that bridge when you get to it. I'm still hoping BW releases some lower profile flares that don't go up AS HIGH or as WIDE.

I read somewhere that these flares need the front mudflaps to be installed. Is this true? Mine had to be removed when I installed my larger wheels/tires to prevent rubbing.

The flares have openings in them for the factory flaps to blend in. They will look kind of incomplete without the factory flaps. You could just trim your flaps to fill in the openings. I only have a rear picture from my install but you can see the opening.

unfortunately the shop tossed the mud flaps. So they will install, there will just be an odd gap?

Installed them this weekend. Had to notch out fronts to fit over rockers.

Took me about 2 hours start to finish, not counting washing it down to the OMG White and a couple smoke breaks. I also had to trim a 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" piece out of the front flares to fit over the square tube of the Shrockworks sliders. Knocked right out with a Dremel. Like chudiddy I am running 1.25" spacers, but with 8" wide wheels. Sorry about the pics. I keep forgetting OMG White and clear sunny skies do not make for good pictures!!!

I just got mine in the mail today and plan to install them Monday. I'd prefer to not cut the flares. Anyone have other sliders that clear the flares?

They will interfere slightly. Just need to make a small notch where they touch. It will not be noticeable.

I actually just installed the sliders today. If you have the flares on (which I do) and mock the sliders in place, it looks like you will have to cut the flares.

We removed the flares, in preparation to cut them, then installed the sliders.

After the sliders were installed, we put the flares back on, and they actually fit without having to cut them. You have to jam the flares in there, and they contact the sliders, but I didn't have to cut them.

Sorry no pics yet. I'll try to get some for you this week.

I have OPOR sliders and this is how I trimmed the flares. There was no way they would have fit without doing so. I think it turned out good and looks like they were made that way.
