Bussmann relay box setup build

Hey everyone,

Its time for me to get after some wiring. I have going to build a Busman relay box, basically following this thread:

A lot of the small connectors have a minimum you have to buy (40 when I need 20, or 10 when I only need 2). I was wondering if anyone else has done this and has spare parts, or if anyone wants to do this build and wants to get spares from me.

I am pretty sure [MENTION=127401]Krayziekid[/MENTION] did this. Figured [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] knows about it, or at least has a bunch of pieces.

I think it's a very ambitious (and extremely clean and professional looking) undertaking.....just seems like a lot of work and expense to get there. Would you use all those circuits and relays?


On a side note .....if [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] has seen this...chances are he didn't do it....doesn't seem to be any chance of fire done that way..


I really like it, so if you do it I'll be following along.

I bought one of these from WiredWagon several years ago for about $90 shipped. I'm not sure if he's building them anymore.

Is it worth $130 shipped to you?

It will cost me around $170 to build it, but that's with a lot of extra parts. I would use probably $80-$100 worth. That's why I want to go in with someone who wants to build.

Hi MIM,

You may not realize it yet, but anyone that's adding a sub-panel under the hood of their truck is (IMHO) "in it for the long haul" meaning... electrical systems are no longer a 'casual interest' but is becoming an actual part of life! Chances are, you'll always have a project going where you'll be needing electrical supplies so having an electrical bay (fancy word for Junk draw) is a very good thing! I don't even fight it anymore, when I see that I'm running out of wire connectors, switches, relays, fuse holders...etc, I just make a list and re-order!! lol

why don't you just buy the pre-wired Bussman box off ebay?
I did and it is sweet with no headaches involved of trying to put together or buying more parts than you need.

i had him make mine custom with 84" long wires so that my fusebox that is mounted on the passenger side can run along the firewall and then thru the grommet on the driver's side and under the dash.
box is $130 and he charged me $15 to make all of the wires longer.
Good deal to me.
