Calling all HID Conversion members!!! I need Help with HID Purchase!!!

Just thought I'd give a little update. I ordered my DDM kit Sunday night. They said it was back ordered until the 17th. I got a surprise email today that said they had shipped.

So far so good.

We'll have to see how they hold up.

So did you ask DDM wheather the highs are HID as well?

This is the kit Jon advised me to get, and what other's have used:

HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning

Just ensure you're buying the H4 Hi/Lo combo bulbs. Also, I've heard that the 35w 6000k set is ideal for our application.

I actually got their "Slim" ballast in the H3 size. I'm going to put them in a pair of driving lights.

I was testing out DDM to see if their shipping, quality, etc... is good. If everything works out I'll be getting a 35w kit for my headlights. So far so good though.

Fightman80-Those are the regular ballast which have the igniters inside the housing making them a little bigger. They are analog.

The slim ballast is smaller, but has the igniter outside the ballast. The good thing about the slim kit is that it is digital.

Jon-I didn't ask. I guess fightman80 will have to find out.

i called and yes the high and low beam are both hid when you buy the added hid high low beam bulb set. i went with 35w and 8000k

cant wait for these to come in, nice people to deal with also:roadkill:

Well I got my housings in........check out the difference between my 98 light and the 99+!

I installed them on the truck, but need to adjust them now....the light output is not too bad......gonna look at what they look like next to the corner lenses in the daylight tomorrow, if all is good, I'll probably order the bulbs. If they don't match up well, might buy some corner lenses 1st.

I got mine from E-bay, but they are Aftermarket, not OEM. I'm happy with them.

I find the light pattern to be ok, but I'm not as fussy about that as others are.....I can say this much....they are better than my old stockers! I haven't bought the HID's yet.....not sure if I will at this point. Although it would be cool to drive around with white lights instead of the yellow tinge they have now, I'm thinking I'd rather start saving up for my LED tails or the full size spare and rim........

Did you go for VVME? I run them as well as LINY and they are great. I run 600k, I believe he runs 10000k.. Hi/Lo is real, so they are technically bi-xenons.

Well shoot - you have inspired me to buy new headlights. I think I am going to get the black crystal ones though.
And yes, I too am not critical of the light pattern - I just want to see at night!
BUt I will say that the DDM kit is as expensive as a set of silvertar bulbs, so DDM for christmas!

Well if you're interested, check their website out. Easy install, no problems for over a year and they've been through mud and water.

I threw these in my truck in 4300k and they work wonders. Decent cut off for no projectors.
