I appreciate that Cam. I've been too busy and broke to do much here lately. Soon to be installing an ARB awning and possibly a cargo rack.

LOL.....i don't miss driving through those. One time i was driving from Houston to Auburn and actually had to stop and scrape them off the lights because they were starting to block the light output.

I haven't finished modding the latch yet. It's just behind the T emblem and it's black so not real noticeable, but I do plan to hide it.
It's about what you'd expect. Some power loss but nothing you can't get used to. I don't really pay much attention to the mileage, just put gas in it when it gets low! Ha ha! But since you asked, I went out and checked the gauge and it says 15.4. Being that the computer is usually inaccurate, and with 35s you're getting better than what the speedo/odo would tell you, 15-16 is probably pretty accurate. I do a lot of city driving and haven't reset it in a long time. So you could probably do a little better if your driving habits are different.

I don't doubt it man, these things are terrible. This is from a 2 hour drive on which I had to clean the windshield twice, and still can barely see out of it!

Thanks for the answers! I was kind of thinking you could take a real heavy duty coat hanger (a metal one) and bend it to your needs and paint it black. But idk if that would be stiff enough.
And wow that's not as bad as I thought. What all trimming and cutting did you have to do for them to fit?

Yeah, I don't know about a coat hanger, but some fence wire would probably work.
I had to get pretty aggressive with the fender trimming and did the BMC - which needs some more taken out. It's just been too hot and I've been working a lot. I've just had to get used to not turning too sharp. Hopefully some cooler weather will allow me to get it finished. Football season and shorter days don't help. :biggrin1:

I'm not sure where a stock T4R sits, but I just measured the top of the front wheelwell and it's at just over 40". If you're stock, just measure yours and subtract from mine and I guess that'll be your answer. :thumb:

The "official" mounts run from about $80-$200 for these. I followed another member's lead, with a slight difference, and I'm almost satisfied. I think it needs to be a little more perpendicular to the truck. I'll be adding lock washers to the U-bolts and maybe shorten them and the L-brackets. I also want to paint the hardware and the backplate of the awning black.
Hope to get some pics of this baby unfurled soon!

It's dark and I'm getting buzzed (managed to be off work tomorrow!) but I've got to share these! This thing is so cool.
Will definitely be using it Saturday night at Ft. McAllister at the campground for the wife's birthday. She loves camping.

Hello again. Since I posted last, a lot has happened. Unfortunately, not a lot with my T4R. I was laid off from work and money was tight already, so I haven't been able to do much. But that's about to change. (I did find a new job, but still working on a budget.)
Since it has been said that it couldn't be done (or that it shouldn't), I've decided to attempt to install a set of 18x12 -44 wheels with 35x12.50R18s with around 4.5" of lift. No, it doesn't make sense and some will call it stupid. That's ok, all the reason I need to give it a try.
So let's break out the grinder and go to work...........

Followed this up with a little flat black paint. I think I've made a significant amount of room. The washer bottle clears, so that's good. I've ordered the clips to reinstall the fender flare (the old ones were trashed during the uninstall). The only tricky part left, hopefully, will be trimming the plastic of the fender flare back toward the door, and reinstalling the fender skirting to look decent.
No, I don't offroad this thing. This is strictly to keep me occupied since I can't afford a new T4R. Thanks for looking and stay tuned. :thumb:
