Carputer, here I come! =)

OK, so after much research and thinking. I am finally on the start to building a carputer. It's coming in piece by piece. The computer will have to be put in last, since I don't have the funds to get everything at once. Also, this will let me enjoy what I have til I get the rest. I will try to keep everyone posted. Maybe everyone can give me some advice as you see fit.

This is what I have:

7.2" Power Acoustik Roofmount screen
Rosen R5001 10-disc DVD/CD/MP3 Changer (I got a good deal on this open box item...couldn't resist)
3 12" Audiobahn Subwoofers
2-channel Kenwood Amp
4-channel Precision Power Amp (I hope I can "borrow" this from my roommate)

This is what I have ordered: (waiting for it to come in)

Farenheit 75R DVD/CD HU
7" Lilliput Touch Screen Monitor
Rosen Changer DIN cable
Rosen Changer Accessory Pack (comes with remote and everything I need to hook it up to an aftermaket HU)

I know its been several months since I started this thread and it's not done yet but...

Here's what I have installed so far:

7" Lilliput TS Monitor (installed where the radio used to be...looks almost like factory)

Farenheit DVD Head Unit (installed in the glove box)

Carputer (underneath driver seat)
- Casetronic 2688R
- Via Epia V800
- M1-ATX 90W PSU
- 20GB 3.5 HDD
- DVD ROM
- Media Engine as Front End
I also installed a bypass switch which allows me to keep the computer off while the engine is on.

Delorme Earthmate USB GPS w/Street Atlas 2005 (connected to the carputer thru USB)

About 800 or so. Not a bad deal considering the potential a carputer has over a standardized head unit, navigation, or dvd system.

That's just for what's in my car now!

Oh yea...here's one of Street Atlas 2005. It automatically defaults to DC for a couple of seconds until the unit picks up a couple of satellites.
