Cruiser Outfitters down here in Salt Lake will get you a better price, and if you come down and pick it up you probably won't have to pay shipping. And I'd skip the OME torsion bars. I'd go with 4Crawler ball joint spacers and then give your stock bars a twist or two extra if you need to level it.

I just put the OME springs on my '85 and like them a lot so far.

Wow that's good to know. Doesn't cranking the torsion bars cause extra wear on other parts?

Cranking the torsion bars isn't going to wear on your ball joints or CV axles any more than any other suspension lift. But too much crank will kill your up and down travel and make for a rough ride, which is why you should do the bulk of your lifting with ball joint spacers or a bracket lift.

Replaced my plugs, wires, and air filter yesterday for the first time since I have had this runner. Everything was so thrashed that I think I can actually feel a little power increase. At least in first gear.

I have a bit of a wet spot on the back of the engine just below the valve cover. I'm pretty positive it is anti-freeze so I'm thinking it's just a failed gasket or something. When I tear it apart to change the timing chain I'll have to look at it.

I'm torn between two ideas... I have $1000 saved that I was going to put towards a new road bike this year, but now I'm thinking I might just keep my current bike for another year and spend the $1000 on the yota (manual hubs, springs, shocks, BJ spacers)... I can't decide!

So today I was a little bored so I decided to pull apart my center console to try and find out why the rear window button wasn't working. I got the switch out and didn't know what else to do other than pull it apart and see if it was still functional. Everything was fine as far as I could tell it was just really dirty so I cleaned up all the metal contact points and put it back together and what do you know? It worked! I'm happy because things are never that easy for me. I also switched out the whole rear window wiper system with the one from my old white shell because the spindle that the wiper arm attaches to was messed up.

Yesterday I pulled my valve cover off again to look at the valves because the engine was getting noisy again and the same rocker arm was loose and the adjustment screw was beat to shit. It is also stripped near the top for some reason and I couldn't get the nut off. I filed it down to make it as even as possible to get me by until my new set of screws and nuts comes. Hopefully when I install the new screws the engine will quiet down.

Did my own little zuk mod today and damn did it make a difference. The ride is awesome and it looks so much better. This should hold me over until I get new springs. My girlfriends dad had some coil springs laying around that he let me use so it didn't cost me anything!

Ha why not?? It works fine and I can just grind them off when I need to.

So... It looks like I'm going to Kentucky for the summer for a job. I'm hoping to come back in August with over $30,000. Then I will get my LT in the front and new springs in the back and shocks all around. I'm not going for the OME kit anymore. I will probably just end up buying shocks and springs separate and skip the torsion bars because I'll be going to coil-overs with the LT kit. Hopefully everything works out with this job and I'll be able to build my runner into a monster when I get back.

Yes, in the past 26 years, someone must have spilled, coffee on that - LOL! Those switches are placed in a very bad condition, while there's so much space on the dash.

I relocated mine to make way for future project. Guess what?

Yeah I guarantee lots of drinks were spilled on my switches. I like the mod! Looks super clean. I may consider doing that for a switch on an e-locker or something.

Got the hubs in today and 4WD works again!! I'm super happy with the Warn's they look awesome. I had a few troubles when stripping down the auto hubs but I just followed the instructions from 4x4wire.com and it was cake!
