Cheapest way to mount a front-mount winch?

Bryanb & singtoe, what winch plate did you use? And where did you mount the box?

The box is sitting on the passenger side of the winch. I didn't fix-mount it since it has no place to go. I will eventually extend the wiring so that the box can mount under-hood.

That is excellent!! I want that. No, I don't have a fat-lip bumper.

Or if you don't have a fat lip bumper you could just extend the frame rails 3in and bolt on a winch plate like this. But then you are kind of screwed over on mounting an aftermarket bumper

Even that would be outstanding on my truck. I like the simplicity of the stock look and simple install. Very much custom though.

I like to do that for stereo installs in my cars. I put in great components, great amps, and a setup that sounds amazing, but I use the factory install locations and factory speaker grills, so nobody can see that anything was modified

Did you have to modify the winch plate to fit properly? I am not a welder so is it pretty clear cut how to mount if I take it to someone? Does the frame need to be boxed off?

I know 4Xinnovations is working on a bolt on hidden hitch, but that will be a while out yet. If you can wait though that is what I would do.

I had to trim to minor tabs with a grinding wheel. I took it to a local fabricator to actually weld it in. He added a few gussets/braces. Unless you weld, you'll probably need to find someone who does to help.
