Did I mention [MENTION=86948]mikebontoft[/MENTION] drives a Jeep?

When I saw his cut and welded driveshaft, I almost commented on how the ends of the tubes should be beveled before welding, and furthermore that grinding most of the weld away was a bad idea. I would have also welded another slip-fit tube inside, bridging and strengthening the joint.

Now I wish I had.

I kinda thought the same, but I would have sleeved it. Put a pipe inside welded it then added the second half. 2 welds are stronger than 1.

I've seen lots of broken jeep. So how Is the jeep treating you

Jeep does great. Took everything thrown at it. Just couldnt handle my poorly thought out driveshaft or transfer case linkage. But I learned from it and shall make it better. (Oh and it was overheating because someone wired the fan backwards before me).

Its not Bill... but I couldnt leave this one out lol.

Mike and his Heap did great, until his driveshaft sidelined him. I'm sure he'll do better next time.
