Clay Bar and PC Orbital Polisher

Just bought a PC Random Orbital last week. I also have some wax applicator bonnets, terry bonnets, and a couple wool bonnets.
My question before the weather turns nice. Has anyone used the PC Polisher and the clay bar as suggested by Griots? They have a clay bar holder for orbital polishers, I wonder if it's faster/easier than by hand.
Alsoi, how do you do the roof? I am 5'5", and I think I have to buy a step stool.

as for the roof:

1. open moonroof stand thru it with 1 foot on each seat (haha)
2. open doors and stand on the door sills
3. get a hitch step and stand on it
4. get a granny step stool and pad it (so it dont scratch the runner)
5. be lazy and have someone else do it (hehe)


just some humor while waiting for the clothes to dry.

i'd say go for the clay holder! it makes it sooo much easier to do....i did it by hand at first but decided to get the holder and glad i did: as for the roof i'd also say stepstool

I clayed the truck by hand and it only took about an hour the first time, about a half hour each time after that. May not be quite as good as a PC and holder, but made a huge difference anyway.

BTW, did the same on the Camry; the first time, it only took an hour, too, and it was really rough. Now, smooth as glass.

I'm 6'1" and I still prefer using a step stool. It just makes it easier to get good coverage. Just make sure wo slide your cross-bars out of the way so you get the areas under them really good. Another good idea is to use the Microfiber cloths. They are awesome.

PC

Griot's stuff rocks and I would definitely recommend using the PC and letting it do the work. I can clay my rig in 15 minutes with it easy.

To reach the roof, I just stand on my sliders and walk back and forth and stand on the tires if need be. Look in my photo section for some before and after pics on some rigs I've used the PC and the Griot's products on.
