one less toyota - dang
good god that is a mess!
Congrats on the magazine, man!
On a separate note, do you know any underground-type paint pros in SoCal? Maybe a garage magician, or a freelancer out for some extra cash? My clear coat is peeling on my hood and roof, enough that I need to repaint. I'm not going to be able to afford anything too fancy. I'm willing to pull all trim and do whatever prep I can to insure a good outcome. At this point, I'll be happy with a 10-foot paint job, which will look better than the issues I have now.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
details on the red runner please.
Cob, You ever thought of doing a long travel front end? seems like it would fit your style of wheeling really well.
You might of already addressed this but I only got to page 36 haha
Yeah, definitely someday. I want to do a total chaos long travel front. It's all going to happen much later, that's a lot of money and time to install.
Thanks for asking, I appreciate you taking the time to read as much as you have!
Good luck getting them paid off! Dude I'm honored haha, even if it is a joke! I'm sure I'll see your build once it takes off.Well, when a thread has 69 freaking pages, you sort know you'd better look into it. LOL
I'm still waiting for the day when I get my 4Runner and Fusion paid off (will both happen this year), I get my new truck, and I can finally start modding the hell out of mine. And while doing so I'll be belting out "You're the inspiration" while thinking happy thoughts of CoB's truck.
Or maybe not. :biggrin2:
How has the SEM paint on the wheels held up so far?
COB, I saw you sold the 1st gen. Did you end up installing the rebuilt motor first? What was final sale price? I would have loved to buy that thing.
COB, your thread reminds me of a fantastic, out of this world adventure. Everytime I click on it, it's like I'm going to Middle Earth and have no idea what kind of surprise I'm in for. :reddance:
Hahah So many vehicles all the time.... and your always wrenching on something! Sawweeet.
Good luck getting them paid off! Dude I'm honored haha, even if it is a joke! I'm sure I'll see your build once it takes off.
What kind of truck are you buying?
Not entirely sure, actually. The requirements are:
- 4WD
- at LEAST an extended cab, if not quad
The rest is up for grabs. Leaning towards a Tundra (obviously) but having owned a 2004 F150 for 8 years, with 156K on it and literally *NO* problems (aside from a right rear blinker - LOL), I'm also partial to Fords, especially as the local dealer is one of those rare gems who actually IS all about customer service.
And I WILL get them both paid off this year. Will get income tax return in February; and that'll go right into the 4Runner, which will pay it off. Then we'll simply take the payment from the 4Runner and add it to the one we're already making on the Fusion, and it'll be paid off probably close to the end of next year.
I WILL say this - once the 4Runner's paid off in a month or two, it IS getting lifted. My plan is to at least get the lift and UCAs this next year as major stuff, and then some minor stuff as well (e.g., Wet Okole covers, sheet metal stuffs for the undercarriage, etc.)
Just got caught up on your rig. Looking great as always. I noticed in the gallery section you mentioned a possible sunroof. Curious if you were thinking of a pop or going full electric?
I like those requirementsI'm always on the Toyota side, but if you've managed to keep that Ford chuggin this long without problems, sounds like you've got a difficult choice to make haha. I'm just glad to hear that you're a Ford owner who doesn't completely bash and ignore the facts about Toyota, not like the Ford purists I've met via the Probe forums. Then again, they're Ford purists driving Mazda manufactured vehicles... haha.
ChildrenOfBodom said:What kind of lift? UCA's are oh so nice, but last I checked they were $750/pair! That uniball upper ball joint is sooo cool. I'll be watching your thread, and if there's any OEM parts you need, hit me up and I can try to help. And hey, there's an "All Other Vehicles" section, I'd love to see a truck build once you get it.
