dude, i love all of your builds. it kills me even more because I had a green 99 4runner like your 3rd gen and a red 1st gen with the porno red interior... you are killing me haha. best of luck on this build.
p.s. you're lucky you don't have to worry about rust like we do on the east coast. itd be impossible to find a nice 1st gen like yours without paying an arm and a dick

The previous owner had the truck stored at his friends house for a while. His friend was out with the weed whacker and sent a rock straight into the driver's window. Probably happened 3-5 years ago lol.

Are you going to use the ecu from the blue truck? Also are you going to switch over the cluster from the blue truck or keep your digital one?

I'm keeping both the turbo ECU and the digital cluster. These having no OBD is nice

The muds are for a 15" anyway. The turbo truck wheels are going back on.
Someone is offering a trade of 2 Orion 10" subwoofers and a Rockford Fosgate 1000W amp. I may trade him the black wheels and old KM1's, I could have a system in both rigs.
I found the XTR Pro 10" for sale brand new on eBay for $84.... so at best, I'd consider $150 for the subs. Better be a nice amp and some cash in that deal.

This upcoming week is spring break. I will have all the time to swap the manual into the Turbo Truck.

Donor truck 2.0 being decimated... here are some guys removing the rear diff. I love craigslist, give someone a small discount and you don't even have to take the rig apart.

Tomorrow's transmission swap day! AKA my birthday
Started the day out chasing a misfire... I changed the little vacuum switch above the cold start injector sensor and it started. I went through the plugs and wires and everything was good. TPS is good. AFM is good. Vacuum is good, checked every line and the gauge shows a good reading. Spent what felt like forever searching... I got frustrated and took my 3rd gen to grab some food and mull things over.

Went back to the 87 and immediately noticed the fuel injector clip on cylinder one came a little undone. Stupid clips are old and broken... gotta get some new ones. Clicked it back in and the sucker runs great.
Took this metal plate from the donor... didn't have one on my 87.
Took the windshield wiper reservoir from it too, mine was from a 2nd gen. Now I have the proper one.

Thanks. Sure glad there's no rust here, considering my 87 was a junker at one point, it'd have been covered in rust in the east.That is one clean ass donor truck by east coast standards.

I tried to sell him the cab, but he wasn't mechanically inclined enough
Lol I don't wanna think about it... hahaha I just know the guy between me and the main road is the coolest guy ever, he digs it. We talk all the time, he's a grandfather living out his days in a house he bought new in 1977.
