Bad ass is what it looks like!! What's with the yellow towel on the windshield wiper?

I accidentally broke the wiper off and didn't want to scratch the windshield, although I guess it didn't matter in the long run.

Fixed the wiper arm, the little plastic wiper adapter was busted. New windshield time, with black border rather than chrome trim.

Some sweet 3D printed side pieces - special for my turbo 4Runner! These are the only ones in existence. Thanks to MTD!

The B-pillar trims will get a nice coat of SEM trim black, and these little badges will get painted.

I haven't been on this site for a while but just went through this thread. Nice find and nice build, I love 1st gens and this is a really good looking rig.

Looking at your truck really brings back memories. My father had the exact truck but with grey interior. I remember driving it with the hard top off at the shore in the summer time. He took that thing everywhere. After about 300k miles it started to wear down so he got a Limited 3rd Gen, that got T-boned and now he has a 4th Gen. My goal is to own a 1st and a 3rd Gen with my 4th Gen one day.

There was a sale on Amazon for headlight bulbs. Problem, these stupid H6054's are sealed beams....

Autopal conversion lamps! H4 bulbs Far brighter and definitely worth the $60 total! I'll get some night time shots later on.

I had these headlights on my first gen and saying they're night and day is an understatement. Huge, noticeable, difference.

Nope, it does not. Needs a new compressor at the least. Everythings there though.

The engine was more luck than anything, another member had built it for his truck and decided not to go through with the project. I bought it and had it shipped from Washington. The original 22R-TE resides in my garage.

Trying these corner lights out for a change. I have been a fan of the Hilux Surf style corners, just now got my hands on a set. I like!

Oil spots of memories past... that timing cover leak left a mess.

Clear corners for reference:

Also installed a Viper alarm. Did not hook up the remote start, don't need any runaway 1st gens. Loving keyless entry, thankful for having had the power locks already.

Looking killer! Wanting to do a alarm/keyless entry system also, but don't know if the factory power locks on mine would be reliable. I'm guessing you just tapped into the power lock harness?

Agreed, the clears just don't have the same appeal. It seems Toyota had a thing for half clear/half amber lights in the 80's. Now to get a set for my 89 Supra!

The A/C won't be necessary without the roof And this summer hasn't been all too bad really.

The power locks on this truck are far more reliable than the ones on my 3rd gen. Those ones suck, over time they hardly work.

No matter if it's hot, cold, whatever, the ones in the older truck are flawless so far. Yes, just tapped into the door lock harness.
