Colorado four wheeling September 15 who's in?

Crashman, we might want to support this and/or maybe the one you were talking about for Holy Cross. Guys it looks like Holy Cross, which we were all in fear of getting closed down, might get a second chance. This same weekend people are going out there to work on a bridge as a compromise to blowing up the place to save it (am I the only one that does not understand that logic:shrug I know you are really looking forward to testing out the new rig but saving trail(s) means we all get to continue to enjoy our favorite passtime. It also showS that we protect and care for these trails every bit as much as the hikers, bikers and ATV's.

Amen! Maybe we as a forum should adopt a trail? I'm not even sure about how to do this, but at the least, we Colorado Springs guys might look in to adopting something off Stagecoach Rd since that is where most of the wheeling occurs in the Springs.

i've crossed out "off roading" on the calender so many times it's starting to look like a jackson pollock painting.

keeping a trail open sounds good to me. hopefully our hard work will be rewarded with a short run afterwards.

It looks like the Denver group is meeting at Sedalia Conoco at 11 am

There is not a meeting place for the Colorado Springs group yet.

I will keep us posted.

Sedalia is a small town at Hwy 85 and CO 67
There is a Conoco station there. The meet time at the Conoco is 11

The confusion is that there are 2 threads on the 4Runner site about this.

There was a trail run being planned for the 15th on the 4Runner site.

When I saw the FJ group having the work day on the 16th I posted it to the 4Runner site so people would know and have the option to go.
That opened discussion on this thread.

The cleanup on China Wall is Sunday the 16th

I do not know if the trail run to Chinaman gultch on the 15th is still on or not. I will not be making the run on the 15th. I will be doing the work event at China wall on the 16th.

The FJ group are good people that are very dedicated to wheeling and serious about the trails, they welcome everyone with similar interest.

I posted the question and offer for us to be there earlier.
I dont know what is planned to be done yet. They were trained on trail management so there must be some organization/ planning.

I will keep this thread updated with information as it becomes available.

Has anyone from the Colorado Springs area done this trail and want to lead us there? If not I may make a run up there tomorrow just to get to know the trail.

For the Colorado Springs group, I propose to meet at the Safeway on Colorado ave in Old Colorado City at 11:15 and be in route by 11:30.

Items to bring- drinking water, shovel, axe, gloves, trash bags and probably some snack food or sandwich.

It sounds like this will be led by Stay the Trail and we may break out into different groups in different areas.

Can we get a count on who is planning to attend? (Denver and Colorado Springs)

I will have my 4 year old granddaughter with me. Not sure she will have the best time fun wise but no other option. Besides it wont hurt her to start learning to take care of the outdoors.
