Worst case scenario, you kill your shocks and will need to replace them which you already plan. So no loss IMHO. The fj coils only give you half an inch so unless you are doing some hard wheeling and extending everything all the time you won't hurt the existing shocks.

I had a question. I has looking to do fj swap 5100s and 2.5 front and 1.5 rear spacers. My question is do I have to get anything else, I seen diff and skid plate drop kits are these necessary or will I be good? I don't do any climbing or much off roading at all just gotta go back right of way for work and would like more clearance for areas.

Im not expecting much more than a tiny bit of rake. I figure with the 255/75/17s i dont need much lift to achieve imporved ground clearance. Thats why i asked if you have any pics of the set up. I might have the FJ coils and trim packs mounted this weekend and will try to post pics to doc the results.

Got do not need the dif drop for that lift. You should be good on alignment to. Sometimes shops have a hard time getting caster dialed in perfect due to not enough adjustment. If that happens you'll need uca's to make it dial in. Or it will wander slightly around the road. You should be fine though.

For every claimed lift amount of any one component ive bought for my 4th gen i always end up with more. So maybe ill get lucky...

imp:Hey fellas I'm new here, I've got a daystar 2.5/1.5 on my 2006 v6, but I'm looking into tossing on some fj coils. I was just curious if anyone had this setup with stock shocks. Seems like everyone on here runs the 5100s with fjs (maybe later on I can get to that point). If I were to just swap the coils all around, would I be sitting ass high? Thanks

You should be perfect, but every 4Runner seems to be a touch different. Also keep in mind the rear coil will settle a bit after some miles. I set mine the same without installing the 11/2 and it's almost perfect. After about 8000 miles it's still about perfect, but if rear settles any more, I may have to put a spacer, but definitely not the daystar I have. It would then be to high. Good luck and enjoy the ride.
I'm no expert but I would get some shocks that are made for a lift or theyll over extend and your ride will be bouncy and the shock wont be doing their job at least for the rear

If you know what the spring rate is of the t1 coils? How firm/stiff is the ride? found it the t1s are 620#. Comparing to OME these fall between the 885 and 886.
im running TRD coils up front and OE FJ coils in back. To insure some rake .5 to 1" i also installed OME 10mm trim packs. To install these i had to discard the OE bumper stops however.

Okay so heres the deal.... I installed rear fj trail tem coil from an 08 theyre in great condition the guy i purchased from didnt know the mileage on the but they looked like they were taken oof early but when I swapped them on my 06 4runner sr5 the height stayed exactly the same. I got no lift at all? Whats the deal?

Then those couls are used and abused with many miles on them ..that's why he all of a sudden didn't know the mileage on them. Also may have had a bumper or a winch on the previous rig that may have helped wear them down.
You would be better off with Tacoma Trd 4wd drive springs anyways the ride is better
