Cutting FJ Shifter Knob to fit the T4R

Cheaper option compared to Billet

I know this thread has been dead but shopping around for new shift knob and found this. Didn't even know the cruiser matched the 4wd lever. So now to decide between billet lever or FJ lever. Price may be the difference here. Love this forum and all the new things I find by searching it. :banana:

I have some transfer case shift levers if you need one, but I am out of the regular shifters

Is anyone actually cutting the shaft of the shifter and cutting more threads so the short knob actually sits lower? Seems like making the shifter knob shorter would keep it st the same height just make the whole thing more petite.

Does anyone know if the FJ knob can be modified to just leave the top section that matches the 4wd knob?

Basically shows more shifter lever like the icon.

Just putting it out there - here is my method without having to trim the shaft or removing the bottom piece.

FJ Cruiser shift knob - No cutting or trimming!
