Anybody else used the toyota reman cv's?
I have been running Autozone CVs for nearly 3 years without issue. They replaced my OE CVs that had 100k on them, which ripped a few miles after my first lift kit. I have them as spares. Perhaps someday I'll reboot them.
I see you have 2.5" ICONs in the front...I have Eibachs/5100 on 2d perch and also a diff drop...
my question is, did you do the stretch mod on your autozone specials? I just put in new advance auto CVs(made by carquest) after my OEM boots tore at 108k (and after 5kmiles on the new 3" lift)...figured to do the whole axles instead of re booting since its the same amount of labor...just curious, thanks bud, and we'll see how long the autozones last...i should add they have the limited lifetime warranty so I can just keep bringin em back in, hopefully I dont though cause this is a DD and not wheeled
Don't forget about the dust shields and to inspect your diff seal. Unless you want to do the job again. ALL the how-to's never mention the damn dust shields.
Okay, so upon reading a how-to, it states that both Axles are in fact identical and swappable. Which means that one of my Cardone Axles is the wrong one. Dangit.
I'll be ordering the inner snap ring and dust cover:
RING, HOLE SNAP (FOR FRONT DRIVE SHAFT) - 90521-29002
COVER, DUST (FOR FRONT DRIVE SHAFT) - 41336-35020
But the outer dust shield/seal is a little expensive, so I'll let them know to try and reuse those ones. I'm less worried about the outer anyway.
Anything else?
How many miles on your rig and have you ever had your LBJ's replaced? They're super easy to do at the same time.
