October's almost over, it's going into the shop Friday afternoon, and coming out when it's lifted. Depending on what we can find, we may throw the 4WD trans and Centerforce clutch in there while it's on the rack, no 4WD conversion yet though, still haven't located the other Taco hub.

Locked it up in the shop, going to start tearing into it tomorrow, I hate doing this because I love driving my runner.

Easiest lift install ever.

When we first set it down and were checking out the new stance, the first thing my dad said was, "Do you still wish it was slammed on the ground", and honestly, yes I do, but someday I'll get to that.

2WD Trans is out, taking the flywheel over to get turned, putting in all new bearings and a new rear main seal.

How come every time I take a clutch out of something it looks good still?

Went to put the Centerforce in and it's too small, actually fits a 22R, oh well, I can use it in my other car. Looks like i'm going with a Napa Ceramic/Kevlar clutch.

Front diff is off getting set-up with the 4.88's, Rear diff checked out and is good to go.

4WD Trans is bolted up to the bellhousing and ready to go once I have a clutch in there.

And the floor is chopped out to accommodate the second shifter

Also scored some Q-Logic Kick Panels, love the look, and the sound.

Picked up the front diff, only cost 125 to get the gears set up, so I'm only into the front 200 bucks total.

Highly reccomend checking out Paden Drivetrain if you're anywhere near Portland, he's been doing drivetrain work for nearly 40 years, and started doing toyotas in the early 80s. He knows what he's doing for sure!

Just got back from the junkyard, Front and rear driveshafts from a V6 Auto 4x4 are going to fit no problem.

They just happened to have a 5 speed 4x4 3rd gen, so I managed to get both shifters, as well as all the trim peices and floor plate for the shifters too.

Also grabbed a good set of door sill plates since most of mine have broken tabs.

Should be throwing it together tomorrow.

Went to, you guessed it, a junkyard, grabbed driveline bolts and studs, spotted a taco with my manual hub spindles, going back in the am, hopefully ill be back on the road tomorrow though.

First set of custom toolmaker battery terminals came in.

Finally got to drive it today, it wanders a bit since I haven't got the alignment and tires on yet, but I've driven worse vehicles that are completely done.

Ended up running into small delays on everything going back together, shifter bolt pattern was wrong on all 5 shifters we had grabbed from various trucks, couldn't find transfer case or driveline bolts anywhere,, but I'm glad it's back on the road.

Tires and alignment happening friday morning. No clue when the bumper will be done, dropping in the front diff and spindles over the next couple days.

Going back in the shop tomorrow though, putting the front differential in, taking the front brakes apart to turn the rotors and replace the pads.

Ordering warn hub lockouts on Friday.

Taco Spindles are all put in in. Grabbed the piece off of the diff to get rid of the ADD altogether as well.

Rear diff out of an older pickup with 4.88's, had no problems getting this in at all.

Did some test fitting with some 36 x 12.5 Swamper TSL SX's, mounted on 15x10's wiht a 4" BS

You can see the BJ coming in contact with the spring here, yikes.

Shifters out of the same Taco, they work without trim

Going to have to make something to fit.

Shifting into first, I have almost no room from the floor to shifter.

Got bored with it sitting around, flipped my sub over.

Made in the USA, really can't say that about much anymore.

The title of this thread should be changed to "Please MTV, pimp my 4Runner". Probably the most "out there" runner I've seen on this site. You decided against your FJ rims? Either way, impressive work.

Nope, those are just my Dad's spares off of his 89, had them laying around and decided to see what was going to rub and what wasn't.

Haha, all the pics are taken with my cheap smartphone, technology and I don't get along, I do need to pick up a better camera, but all my cash goes towards 4Runner parts!
