Got a link to some? Are you citing just for the display area? Or these solve hot spots in control knob as well? Much appreciated!

i have found thats just the way it is. i personally have tried both and think the HP bulbs give worse hotspots. i originally ordered the HP bulbs, but then swapped them out for the standard Neo3 bulbs. i sanded the leds to give it a frosted appearance before installing, dont know if that helped at all or not??
also, reason why you didnt do the 4wd shifter? its a neo4 BTW

[MENTION=7556]subspd[/MENTION] no bulbs in the cluster, everything is surface mount LEDs, PLCC-2 to be exact. These have to be soldered on once you desolder the OEM LEDs.
this is a limited cluster, so may be different than yours, but it will give you an idea of what it looks like under that cover...
If I wanted to keep the stock colors besides the lettering to get the matching bright white are these the bulbs to use?

That led has a different number than I have been able to find for the PLCC2 units. This one at Lighthouse shows 3528 for the led model number. Maybe superbrightleds listed it wrong.

Preciate that. I deleted it because I found a picture buried in these 90+ pages. I've been reading all of your stuff. Great job! Any tips on having a different color needle than background? Saw someone tried to paint them but the picture wasn't there anymore. I'd like to have a white background with blue needles..

only way to do a white background with blue needles on your truck would be to solder white LEDs and paint the back of the needles blue. two problems with that though:
1) the needles will be vary hard to see during the day agianst the black faced background. i think this is dangerous and could be an issues for future owners of the truck
2) the needles will not be bright during the night. yes they will be lit up, but the blue will not reflect the white light well.
only way to get different color needles than your background on your cluster is to leave the needles the OEM orange back and install white LEDs for the background. if i ever change a needle color, i remove the OEM orange and paint the back of the needles white. this is very easy to see during the day and also reflects whatever background color you replace well at night.

How "red" are the stock painted needles with white LEDs behind them? I love the look in my dad's audi of all red interior LEDs with white numbers on the cluster and red needles. I would like to emulate that if I can.

Seeing that you have an SR5, the cluster lights up differently. The Limited gauge needles are different and the backlighting is a little different as well. However, I have seen an SR5 light up like mine, but I've never seen one in person.

Does anyone have any extra neo 3 white leds laying around? Superbrightleds doesn't sell them anymore. I'll pay for the leds and shipping. Thanks!
