Doable? - JDM Toyota Landcruiser Prado KZJ90 Tilt Altimeter

Anyone set one of these up in their Runner? If it is a self contained unit that just needs power in should be doable. Maybe mount it on the dash above the clock.

i always wished Toyota had included one of these (like the FJ) on the Trail Edition at the very least.

Well it seems like if this just requires 12v to hook up it should work. I would like to know the exact dimensions so I can check the fitment above the clock.

Well looking closer at the pics of the unit it looks like it has a 10 pin connector so I doubt just powering this unit will work. Need to find out what the other signals it is pulling to operate. Need to find service docs from one of the supported vehicles.

Seriously asking.... Why do you think that?
I have been thinking about an inclinometer, not because I am worried about rolling over or anything, but because I sleep in the truck and have had issues getting on level ground. One of my first times camping in the truck I though it was level when eye-balled against the background, but I was WAY off. I woke up at 2am, the mattress and I had slid down and I was basically standing on the tailgate (rear hatch, whatever it's called). I would think an inclinometer would assist in getting the level correct.

But I've never seen one in person, so I don't really know. Am I incorrect in this thinking?

Too much work and money when you can get those $15 Lev-o-gauges that do the same job. They look industrial enough to not look insanely cheap.

I'm not sure what use an inclinometer is, but an attitude-style inclinometer, even if only weighted and fluid-filled, looks cool. I'm doubtful about the use of an altimeter. But I'm with the others, this $8 amazon buy (if it works) may be as good as anything else.

Better yet, a mechanical/gyro gizmo that plugs into your phone gyro, that's going to give you the best info, but not sure if these exist (or are cost effective).

I have this thing. It's a POS. It bounces around so much you can't get a reading on it. Use a phone or tablet app or a couple of Lev-o-gauges.

Ahh ok, I thought you were referring to inclinometers in general as being worthless. Makes more sense now. ;-p
