DRL bulb question

I know its on here somewhere but cant for the life of me find it again. I want to swap the yellow DRL bulbs out with white. What bulb do I need? Thanks for the help, I know search is my friend but he's not playing nice with me right now.

I used Sylvania 1156 (L)ong (L)ife. Total of about $4.00 at WalMart.
Much, much better.

DRL Bulb Change

How do you get at the bulbs?

So the DRL is not the same bulb used for the turn signals?

Obviously don't want to have a clear turn signal.

They are the same. When you turn during the day, your DRL flashes on and off. I just changed out my amber DRL bulbs for clear. It does look much better. I'm against full time DRL's (I had them turned off on my 4th Gen) but now that the 5th Gens are switched I think they come in handy. There are times when I would like lights on but don't want my stereo display unreadable because of dimmed instruments, such as driving into a sunset, etc. The yellow DRL's are next to useless. The white lights are much better IMO.

I did some research and apparently clear signals are legal in many states as long as they are only visible in the front.

You get at the bulbs from underneath. Just a quarter turn counterclockwise and the socket pops out of the reflector. Another quarter turn and the bulb pops out of the socket

I got at mine from the front wheelwells. There are 3 or 4 screws you can take off and then with some finagling you can pull the liner out-towards the wheel- and reach your arm inside and swap them out. Not too hard. The first side took me about 15min to do becuase of figuring out what to do. The second side took about 2 minutes.

Maybe the SR5 is a lot different, because all I had to do was lay down right under the front bumper and just reach up to the socket! Is my truck missing a cowling or something? The whole job took less than a minute.

Interesting. On mine the entire front area is covered by stuff. Plastic or metel, I dont remember. I looked all around and going thru the wheelwells was by far the easiest way to attempt getting at them.
