Dual Battery Help

It's funny that you post up a thread asking for help and then you refuse to let people know what happened that caused the problem so they can learn from it.

Did you happen to take pics of the battery locations? Just curious where the secondary battery sits in a '14, as I thought the plumbing near PS firewall
prevented the placement of a battery there.

Shrockworks has a total relocation set up that moves components to ensure the battery fits

something isn't adding up here. even if you somehow managed to connect the batteries in series (producing 24v) instead of parallel (12v, but higher amperage), you should have blown up more than just the starter. furthermore, hooking up with reversed polarity shouldn't fry a starter...

I had nothing else hooked up other than the single battery when this mishap took place

that makes even less sense. if you still want to run a dual battery, I'd flog that isolator you won and get one of these. mine works flawlessly.

Thanks, but mine works just fine.

Hi Miguelon,

Not sure if you checked it yet, but there's a 30A starter fuse that protects that IGN circuit from overloads/surges located in the main Rly/fusebox under the hood. It's labeled ST fuse 30A (for starter). Give that a look and let us know how you made out,

Rgds

My rig is fine, thanks.

I connected my Dual Battery Isolator kit yesterday and when I was finished, the 4Runner wouldn't start. Everything powers up, but the engine doesn't turn over. Its like the starter isn't getting power. Can anyone give me any advice?

His rig is fine thanks!!!!!

I have no idea what is going on here, but it looks like I am not seeing all the messages. On my side this all looks like I am being quoted and offered advice to fix my truck.
