If you're talking about aiming, find a wall at night and park about 20 feet away from it. Use a 10mm wrench and a socket to adjust it to where you want.

Dude, tell me about that sunroof. What did she end up having to spend on that?

I really want a sunroof... lol. Is it all OEM parts?

nope.. not OEM at all, the sunroof is an Inalfa one.. its an "inbuilt" one

we paid somewhere between 1200-1500$ for it installed. It was a christmas present and my wife surprised me...

there are cheaper ones, she did get me one of the most expensive models.

Its super nice, and Ive had very little trouble with it... it did get stuck once and the place I got it from said there was a penny in the track and wouldn't warranty it even though it has a long warranty on it. I think the guy was full of crap though... he was kinda shady. In fact, If I need more work on it someday, I will be going to a different shop that works on them.

Soooo....

I got a box today...

and inside that box are some OEM headlights from a 2000!!

so, its time to take some pics tonight of the brightness (or lack thereof) of my current headlights so when i take pics of the new ones, we can see how much brighter things will be!

any tips on install how to make sure the new ones are leveled correctly??

You probably saw they were completely broken... both the baskets and some of the mount points.

Should I just go this route?? Thoughts opinions?? I know LINY will be all over me for not going OEM!

There is good reason to go OEM on headlights, me LINY, and KellyJ looked at 004Gunner's headlamp that was non-oem and lets just say he had to solder and fix it just to get it to work, and it wasnt adjustable. I would advise you listen to him on this occasion.

Maybe Gunner got them from a different place... these say that they are

You're gonna wanna stick with OEM when it comes to headlights. John's right - I saw one of 004Gunner's headlights (non OEM) and saw the differences between the two units and all the trouble he had to go through to get it working properly

ok, two votes for OEM...

but everyone is using 1 example of a bad experience, I want to hear from someone else, maybe even find out who Gunner bought them from, maybe it was a different store..

I know that Jims Yota Yard sells aftermarket ones too if they dont have a 99-02 in their yard.

can't comment on gunners problem, but it is fact the optics used in non oem isn't as good and you have to remember the bulb is like 50% of the light output the rest is how well that light is moved through the lens, there's alot to it you just can't see from looking at the units.... soo yeah take that for what you will, there are very few things i'll replace with oem parts and my own cash if you get what i'm saying and i think head light housings and lenses would be one of them.

Ok, well that helps too, I definitely dont plan on using any bulbs that came with the headlight, I still plan on either Sylvania or PIAA bulbs..

but Ill have to take that into consideration

Super simple, took me maybe an hour? I did have to take it back apart because I had a bad connection on one side of the cluster gauge. put a different LED in that one.

I got all of em including the dome light from V-leds.com for maybe 40$

My next two mods are pending,

since the 00 headlights were broken, I returned them for a refund, and used the money to buy a Magnaflow Muffler from 1bad4r,

and Im getting a Roll bar from Sn0wrunner on Friday...

both will require some fab work, so got to get a few buddies together to help me figure out how Im gonna do this..

Would be awesome... I wanna get a couple of us together to figure out how to run this one, especially since I have to do dual...I think all to one side will be less intrusive as far as 4wheeling goes..

So, big thanks to XJSoup from RM-4wd • Index page for hosting a mod party at his house! and also to Brad aka Axle, and Gerdo! all of them helped me work on my Steering bushings on Thursday and now my steering is super tight like it was years ago!!

Ok,

Im gonna need to get some new pics up soon, but I did the "removal of valance" mod

makes it look tougher, and removes the bumpstops which make your entrance angle a bit better

if you look at the pics of the 3 4runners together and look at the tan and white ones, you get an idea of what it looks like

Also, my budbuilt skid is on the way, I have Clear Corners/Clear bumpers and a firestik on the way also!

and I have to put in another OBO on an ebay set of Trail-Gear sliders.

Sooo, more pics to come in the next few weeks. Maybe I will even get that Magnaflow on the 4runner...
