Easy Weekend Mods

Do you have a picture? I am curious how the plastic dip looks on the plastic paneling. Thanks

yeah, this is currently the best one I've got. Not much of a auto photographer.

^ diggin that rig!!

hey everyone, as far as easy mods go, I am about to buy a Scion Pioneer headunit, T1807 model. I am only interested in getting an AUX option to play pandora from my galaxy s7 andoid, aside from the oem look and slightly improved sound quality etc. The headunit has an AUX feature from the back of the unit and I am trying to confirm if the part below would work to plug into my phone somewhere on the dash or glove box.

I really wanted to start an intro thread btw to introduce myself and ask this question but i need more posts. i am new owner of a 2004 sr5 - white with plans to mod it. I looked at 4 other 4rs and found one with very little undercarriage or body rust, 130k miles. sold my old wrx to get into the 4r scene.

Thanks in advance.

Unistrut/Superstrut roof rack. Two bars will touch the roof with my weight (about 225) on either bar, but do not touch with my weight between the two. The full size strut wouldn't do that, but I'm good with it the way it is.

Question, I got a new CV axle to swap one with a torn outer boot. I remember doing a “slide mod” when I put axles in the last time on the inner boot. It involved replacing the clamp with a worm type hose clamp but a marine grade one with rolled edges that won’t cut the rubber boot. I can’t seem to find the post or thread where I read up on that mod in the first place. Anyone know what I’m talking about? I don’t remember the size of the clamps or where I got them. I purchased a bag full of them in case and must have thrown them out.

This was an easy thing to do and I think it has improved my MPG. Over the next few weeks I'll able to say for sure if it improved. I'll post a few pic.s to show those with the V6. Hope I get this right lol

So does this increase the MPG's? I'm a new member, just reading up. The hydrocarbon filter removal mod.

Hi,
I'm new here and would like to do this as well. Would you be able to take pics of this and do a write up?
Thanks

Hey all! I figured I would post here, since the things I'll be doing will be weekend mods... and I can't start my own thread yet.

Just got an '08 4x4 Limited and I love it. However, even though I won't be doing serious off-roading in it any time soon, and probably won't even be hitting light trail/service roads until next year, I'd anxious to do SOMETHING to make it a little less soccer-mommish... heh.

The previous owner just put on new Cooper Discoverer tires on it right before selling, so I am going to have one hell of a time convincing my wife that I need new all terrain tires any time soon. Is a leveling kit going to look silly on the stock wheels/tire size? I searched a lot of pictures but was having a hard time finding ones that were with stock tires.

just a thought, get new all terrains as you can sell the Coopers on craigslist and get some money back...
as far as making "to make it a little less soccer-mommish: lift it, lifts can be a inexpensive spacer lift, since you wont be wheeling it much for awhile. Maybe look for a used roof rack on craigslist or a light bar. Im sure you may not want to dump lots of cash into yet.
Oh and welcome to the "addiction" lol oh post a pic if you can.

Thanks! Going to take a better picture tomorrow.

I am leaning towards a leveling kit for now, maybe a real body lift if I ever get into more aggressive mods like bumpers etc. I am new to offroading and overlanding so I will definitely be taking it slow.

I am noticing a whining/squealing sound from the rear at very low speeds and when I turn, it goes away once I get up to about 10 mph. I only hear it with the windows down (didn't notice it on the test drive...). I'm going to look at the calipers tomorrow, cuz I'm thinking it's the rear caliper sticking issue. I want to get that lined out before I think about buying spacers!

That’s my thread, glad you guys found it helpful. I love my ‘07 Sport and this video on my recent trail ride may be of interest since you have one too.

The Satoshi grill is one of my favorite mods (even if it’s only cosmetic) and I did a how-to on it as well for anyone who wants one.

Thank you..! That video was awesome. I don't think my 4Runner would be capable of doing that as my Sport is not a 4WD.

The Satoshi Grill looks awesome. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Finally installed

Removed the X-REAS and Daystar leveling spacers and installed Fox coilovers and shocks. I'll let you know how it performs after taking it on the trails.
