I swapped in the smokers kit this morning before work. It took longer to clean out the old coffee the last owner spilled than to switch the insert. I'm really happy with how easy it was.

Nice, I like how it has 2 outlets. Where did you pick this up?

add some dynamat to your doors and cabin floor! the worst part is muscling the roller to press the material to the metal of the truck, but it's a great way to spend a Saturday and makes a difference in road noise.

Any tips on painting emblems and badges? Not looking to plastidip.

I have painted a bunch of small items that I wanted black with simple truck bed liner that you can pick up at Walmart. Easy to use and tough as nails. Has lasted a very long time so far on everything I have hit.

Hey Rick, what do you think of this unit? Was thinking of trying it.

Thanks!

Figured it might help to chime in - I had a Boss HU in my 3rd gen for a few weeks before having enough and going to a used Kenwood for an extra $50 more. The equalizer was limiting my sounds quality through speakers, interface was laggy and unresponsive, and it occasionally would glitch out. Feature-wise, it had everything I would want, but normally what you pay for is the user interface - it's worth it to get into a name brand model.

BTW, where you at in Wisco???

Thanks for the info! I typically believe in “buy once cry once” but my runner is my hunting rig and hate to put too much $ into it. That and my hearing is getting worse so I probably wouldn’t notice sound quality!

I’m over in Hudson, originally from Spooner area. How about you?

Thanks again for the input.

I’m in the process of connecting my Metra harness adapter to my Pioneer headunit for my 2004 non JBL. Does orange with white stripe connect to orange with white on the Metra adapter? The Metra packaging lists solid orange and orange/white, but the adapter only has the latter. The pioneer headunit says orange/white is for lighting terminal. I would have assumed lighting terminal would have connected to a solid orange illumination wire that isn’t present on my adapter.

Wisco,
I've had the unit for about 6 months now, generally happy with it.
Installation was a pain, the brackets are not perfect so it's not easy, but in the end it worked out. Crutchfield SUCKED at providing technical support, which is usually a strong suit for them.
It's a basic radio, but that's all I wanted. I use the phone for navigation, but spend a lot of time out of cellphone coverage, so the bluetooth connectivity was important.
I don't feel like the sound quality got better, but the speakers are stock so it's possible that new speakers might result in better sound.
If I could do it again I'd spend $800 for one of the Kenwood systems, but that was just too much at the time for me.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Also, my wife's family is from Spooner - the Durands.
Rick

I'm looking to swap out the center console upper cover on my sport edition for a Limited one because this will give me two extra slots to be able to drop in OEM switches. Does anyone know if these are swappable? Also, i'm pretty sure I found the part number for the Limited part, 5882235020B0, can anyone who has done this swap or who had a Limited confirm that this is it? See pics.View attachment 200145

Any help you guys can provide will be appreciated.

Also, sorry if i'm on the wrong thread, i didn't want to start a new thread simply to ask this question.

Did you ever get a response with this? I'm wondering if you can use those OEM seat heater switches and install after market heating pads. I can't seem to find anything anywhere about it.

I'm picking up my '07 Sport Edition this weekend and that's one of the first swaps I want to do.

The 1400NEX in my 04 looks pretty damn clean... now to replace those stupid dash bulbs. Think I found some on superbright LED’s just need to figure out how many T3/T4 neowedges I need. Thought about going blue or white. I think white would be sick, but I’m not about to solder in white for my gauges.
