Experience? Rola roof basket

Just about to purchase rola low profile roof basket on CL..any thoughts experience, quality, wind noise?

It's a solid piece that is well worth the money. It's easy to assemble and not too heavy but easier with two people if you're lifted. I used Armor Tech Brackets with mine so it sits much lower to the body by 3" or so. Wind noise is going to happen but not to much to bare with the sun roof open. I can shake the whole truck standing on it with zero give from the brackets or the rack.

I'd say go for it if you're getting it off Craigslist. I'm sure it's a pretty good deal. I have the Yakima Megawarrior with extension and I really like it. That's another alternative.

^^ thanks for sharing..ya I'm thinking of getting the low profile brackets as well..IMO looks cleaner and I'm lifted and will need it lower to get inside my underground parking, I was looking at the yakima as well but looks like it sits a lot higher than the rola

You may want to silicone or repainted the junctions. Many folks have complained about the rust at the junctions/connections.

Its very solid, worth the money,I would silicone the joints and screw holes.I mounted a lightbar to mine.

I like the low profile look and with the brackets you can get, it looks super slick! However, I too have read about rust.

you stand on the roof rack? thought that would be a bit much for the stock rack.

When I was at walmart time it looked like they had a rebadged rola rack...any comments?

Yeah I have no problem standing up there and have even had an extra person as well. The factory middle rails are completely taken off when you do the low profile bracket mounts. It didn't budge with lose to 400 lbs of tow people body weight. Excellent design and setup.

Ato rola rack mod 69$ mine came a little light in the acc. missed a cpl of nuts & washers so make sure all there , also they rust quick, so rustoleum 1st !

Picked up the rola/vortex basket yesterday and I'm happy the way it turned out esp that I found a way to make it sit a tad lower and still able to open my sunroof and getting inside our parkade I also silicone the joints that attaches them together along with the screws, thanks guys for the advise! I covered the rola badge and add a lil touch of t4r.org I got from momo

Ive bought both rola racks from etrailer since they had the best price at the time of purchase. As mentioned prior seal the joints and you will be ok. I used gasket sealant and have been fine. What sold me on the rola other than price was the looks compared to others.
