Finally got my "trail" badge.

Man. You guys spend a lot of time on advertising what you have.

I have had a couple people ask me "What is that?"

I say "A 2015 Trail Edition 4Runner" and I am done.

Guess I am just not that into all the badging and crap.

FYI It all started as a snuff to the TRD Pro badge. :

It is pretty easy to tell as a Trail is the only model without badging.

Hah correct! It did coincide with the Pro release, of which there was a whole lot of sling getting slung. Easy to get wires crossed here

Slapped on the Trail badges

Just put the Trail badges on the truck tonight. I think Toyota should of had these badges on the truck from the factory. I'll try and get some picture of it in the daylight tomorrow and post them. If anyone is wondering how I put them on don't hesitate to ask. :rockon:

Has anyone had these powder coated? When I order mine I will want to have them powder coated black with exception of the R which I want red. I've had things powder coated before but I've never asked if you can do multi-color on one piece like this.

Has anyone here tried this?

I generally don't like badges, but had toyota done this style badge on the trail i would never take it off. It's so awesome. On the flip side, I like explaining to folks how to distinguish a trail from the rest of the fleet. I say no badge and look for grey accents on front and rear!

Where did you find a stop-bit for a 3/16 diameter and 1/16 depth? I'm having issues finding one at 1/16.

Here's what I did with mine… I bought some rare-earth super magnets from K&J Magnetics - Strong Neodymium Magnets, Rare Earth Magnets. They are 3/16" diameter and 1/16" thick. I drilled 3/16" diameter holes in the back of the badge, then glued the magnets into the holes with thick CA. It took 20 magnets. (I added two more after taking these photos.)

I also lightly sanded the badge, then sprayed on a couple coats of primer. This was followed by four coats of black Plasti-dip.

The magnets hold the badge in place very tightly. I haven't tested it yet but I think they might even stay on during a "no touch" car wash.

So far I've only done one badge, because I under-estimated how many magnets I would need.

Trail badges just shipped in Matte Black Steel. Just need to find a powder coating place that can do two colors.. and to figure out if I want to try the magnetic approach or adhesive.
