Fomatting the FSM

I found the FSM on google drive and was not to satisfied with how its all in separate folders.

Its been compiled into a single file now and bookmarks properly setup...

Now who here would want to see the hyperlinks actually work? I can do it, but Id do it faster if there was interest in it.

Not a fan of web links or any of that...because well, that can disappear

Or has someone already done this and im just missing it?

Sounds interesting to me. I also have the FSM in paperback, but I guess this would be handy.

There is a .iso file that has everything working. It uses a web browser to open the pdf files.

There is a .iso file that has everything working. It uses a web browser to open the pdf files.

clunky to use, must be burned to cd/dvd (anyone still have one of those?), or be tech savy enough to know how to mount .iso files as a virtual drive. Also, it's an .exe subsystem, so windoze (or win-emulator) only.

Yea, it’s burned to a dvd. Though about trying to burning it to a thumb drive to see if it works. Never got around to it.

Let me go dividing again to get to find an emulator before.

I've had to do something similar for setting up a media server I built using open media vault.

I will report back what I can find. Should be able to crack it

It would appear to be of reduced usefulness to someone that needs FSM info for a pre-2000 4Runner.

Well the one I got bad 2400 versus that one I believe has 2100 pages. Lol

And can someone with a 1996-2000 be able to fix their truck using the 2002 manual? My logic tells me, a 2002 manual is made for 2002 truck. Same rules applies to all other years. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Thanks will do! I was actually able to pull something down from that first link. The internet I get for free at work apartment is slow. Lol

But I was playing with that first link you posted yesterday and was able to get it to too boot but whenever I would click one of the links, it would say it couldn't be found, and it showed me the path it was looking for and the path where the actual file was matched where it was searching so I'll have to dog deeper into that.

But to be honest, I am not entirely sure how nice that interface would be because it came off as a wall of hyperlinks. it was essentially like a bookmarks is to Adobe. You click the link it takes you where you wanna go.

I did find some programs to help expedite me repairing the hyperlinks I have already for the one I'm formatting I just need to play with that Abit more.

I'll start looking at other iso files this afternoon if I get a chance. Trying to install carpet in my runner currently.

The frame and actual body is the same from 1999 - 2002 as we have only one collision repair manual.

Electrical Differences:

1996 -1998 are extremely close. Head light circuits different from USA and
Canada
1999 they added a few new circuits as the interior went from manual to electronic. Automatic Air Conditioning, Multiplex Communication System.
Engine immobilizer, theft deterrant system show in in the Electrical wiring diagrams. Front Fog lights show up in manual. wireless lock control

2000 daytime running lights show up and the auto shut of headlights, mirror heater circuit shows up.

2001 seat heater shows up, Vehicle Stability Control replaces ABS. Trailer towing shows up ( odd because we had this since 1996 but its not an accessory)

2002 Garage door opener shows up.

well, the A-pillar body mounts are different on the early trucks, and they're also missing the B-pillar mount that the later ones got.

other than that, I haven't noticed any differences either.
