My solution* to a torn inner boot. (Torn between the small clamp and first rib)
*Temporary solution while waiting for boot kit to arrive
Grease had gotten pretty diluted in the short time the boot's been torn. Cleaned as much out as possible and repacked with new CV grease.

"Sewing" with stainless lock wire. Rejoining the two severed pieces.

Vulcanizing cement to help the rubber bond to itself and seal things up.

And finally, I cannabalized and old tire tube to add another layer of protection. I overlapped itself by about half a wrap. Threaded the lock wire through holes in the tube to secure it in place, then several tight wraps followed by more cement.
