FTS 5th gen Snorkel Install

For people who have the snorkel and switched out the head, I'm looking to buy the head that came with the snorkel.

I messaged you Nathan. Some jerk stole mine last night, need one ASAP (either a safari or fts), a ton of rain is coming this week and I just have a dryer sheet on there right now lol. Or if anyone knows where I can order one fairly quickly, I'd appreciate it.

***Edit: Just ordered a safari snorkel head, we'll see how it looks. But I'm still wanting a fts one.

How's your new snorkel head faired in the rain? I am more concerned about snow than rain but tons of opinions vs. fact on the net - ultimately may just turn the head around when it comes to snow.

It works great! It was pouring a couple days ago, checked the filter and it was completely dry.

Anyone ( [MENTION=64685]TOY2G[/MENTION] ) try a pre-filter like Donaldson or Sy Klone? If so, thoughts? Which version works the best given CFM ratings? I like how the topspin version seems to operate the best but tough to figure out the size as it looks like you almost need an 11" wide version to work/provide enough airflow.

Got mine installed. It was easy and the snorkel looks great with a couple coats of Rustoleum satin black. Thanks for making this happen, Nathan!
***Edit: sealing was a little tricky with the "tunnel" inside the OEM airbox. I actually thought the TRD airbox and sleeve was easier when [MENTION=84479]Petromaniac[/MENTION] and I installed his.

You are going to have one well traveled snorkel by time its on your fender.

I did not have to egg any of the three large holes I cut. The only thing I had to egg was the 1/2 inch holes... On the first truck I had to do 4, the second truck 3, and the last truck 2. Next time I will be Jedi level.

I have to say it's a very one of a kind feeling to run a 4" plus hole saw to your perfectly good fender.

No, my FJ snorkels are ABS, the FTS snorkels are fiberglass, but the quality Is good.

Is the finish a smooth fiberglass, or rough like your PRG. I like the look of the non smooth/glossy style.

It's pretty smooth, more so than my FJ snorkels.
