Everyone I saw put in a mid size CB in the dash. I wanted a full size and didn't want to mount it anywhere in the way so I tore into it. IF YOU WORK AROUND THE AIRBAG CONTROLER BE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY JUST IN CASE.
Cowl removed
Radio amp and something else. Moved them up as far as possible.
Cowl back on. Had to cut out ashtray, cigarette lighter and two aux. outlets.
The radio goes in at about a 10 degree angle which is great for seeing the controls. Also when you cut the cowl, remember that because it is at angle the hole will have to be cut bigger than you think. (5 attempts later I got it.)
I had enough room left to mount my meter.
Came out really clean and took about 6 hours.
