Hate to beat a dead horse, but these nav issues aren't going away anytime soon. Just purchased the 2011 limited 4runner with nav. Thanks for this thread, I know it's older, but still helpful to us "newbies"! I've been researching and asking questions for about a week now, and the best solution I'm getting is the Prestigious Society's Prestigious Society plug-and-play unit. While not the perfect solution, it seems to be the best "simple" fix for the time being.
The dealership people were very hush about this, almost acting as if they never heard of the problem. But they of course did know, and I got the subtle impression that something like Prestigious was the way to go. I was also quietly referred to Toyota Navigation which basically is just a place to register complaints about this.
Anyhow, I'll post if I decide to get this PS unit and how well it works.
Any one here been using Prestigious for awhile now? Still working well?
Chris
