I really like this idea. And now a front runner on my UCA choice.

I don't understand - you would go through the trouble and expense of replacing the factory UCA's but won't spend the $225.00 on a set of Bilstein 5100's to lift the front?

Cause I'm kicking myself in the ass for not doing enough research and going the cheapest route. So now I'm trying to mitigate my losses by going the cheapest route.

It's a lose, lose type of situation.

I am getting rubbing on the body mount so I am trying to fix that. I've been looking for UCAs to help fix this. But eventually I want to replace my suspension too. So UCAs first, then new suspension all the way around. Lesson learned.

I am bringing my t4r to Bach on Tuesday and went with:
Toytec Ultimate
LR UCA's
Bilstien 5160's in the rear.

Can't wait.....

Do yourself a favor and get some C/O's and don't look back...save for everything you need/want and do it all at once otherwise your throwing money away on install costs. Trust this advise - you will be happy you did it! The difference is significant enough that you will feel like your driving a new truck with superpowers.

BTW - you get your rack yet? I picked mine up yesterday. I decided to do a flat enamel rattle can paint job last night - turned out great! Will install tonight. :thumb:

Thanks, and I agree. I have a '64 Chevy C10 pickup that I am debating on selling to support my 4runner cause. I haven't touched that truck in two years.

New lift, new wheels, new light bars, audio upgrades, quad projectors, vinyl wrap, ARB compressor, and ..... :faint2:

I mistakenly ordered 2x front 5100 sets and he's got my spare set there in teh shop, might make you a deal on them if you ask specifically. What I will say if that you should def go with the ToyTec springs. I reused the stock springs on the front on my 3rd gen first and they sagged within a few months. The rear OME mid rates and 5100's rode great with stock weight.
Glad you touched base with Pete. I seriously cant say enough good things about his work ethic and his commitment to making this hobby/pass-time/whatever great from not only a business point of view but also from a interpersonal point of view. I've seen him do a good once over (free of charge) on new vehicle purchases for customers vehicles several times, heard him make appts for guys to bring used trucks they might buy to the shop for a quick "second set of eyes" check, etc, etc. For a guy as busy as he is (VERY!!!), him taking time make sure his customers are happy no matter what says a lot and because of that he has earned my business for a long, long time.

If it were me and I was looking for UCA's for a mostly street driven vehicle where I didn't want to lose the reliability/quiet/low maintenance of my stock UCA's, there's only one choice - Camburg.

Camburg Upper Control Arms Set - 310040 "Ball-Joint"

Press out your factory ball joint from your factory UCA and press into the Camburg UCA. Now you can get 4+ caster on alignment even w/ 2.5"+ lift. You have the reliability/reduced maintenance/quiet (no squeaking) of a Toyota ball joint. You will have improved range of motion, though not as good as a uniball, nor the strength of a uniball if you are really bashing it hard off road.

Update: Talked with Camburg and said this would work with a spacer kit. They just don't recomend using spacer kits "because of the problems they cause".

Not that I am going to install these right away with my spacers but just an FYI.

I know they're out of the way for you but Slee Offroad in Golden is a highly respected shop that specializes in working on Toyota

Slee did the lift on my FJ as well as the alignment. They also did a body mount chop on it. All of the work was excellent. I would highly recommend them.
