[MENTION=123470]davidoronshelton[/MENTION], yes it will rub a bit on the mount when turning in reverse and turning with flex. It will be drivable, however you need to push your fender liner forward and trim the bumper a bit. I'm running a similar set up and about ti lift in a few weeks.

Just to give you an idea of how much you'll be trimming. I had my liner pushed all the way forward when my 285s were mounted and brought a razor knife when I picked her up. Trimmed the bumper in the psrking lot of the shop.

I had to make some room for the front tires today. Pushed the fender liner forward about an inch. Trimmed the lower inner fender in the front. Trimmed the bubble on the little plastic guard behind the wheels. It was still rubbing so i completely removed the guard. With out any flex i have about 1/2 inch of clearance at the closest point front and rear when turn left and right, so im not sure there's anything i can do with the alignment. I'll keep an eye on it, but didn't expect it to be this close.

Anyone know if getting a more aggressive tire ko2 or duratracs in stock size 265/70/17 with 2016 SR5 wheels will rub without lift?

I'll probably get flamed for asking this question, or any other question, for that matter, but here it goes. I just bought a 17 trd pro and I know they have a tiny bit of lift because of the suspension components already on it. I just ordered the 2/1" lift spacers for it to hopefully fit some 285-70r17s on it. Will I need to upgrade the UCAs to get it aligned properly? I had some Camburgs on my Tacoma and it did help, just not trying to spend an arm and a leg on this one.

Hey guys! First post here btw-although I have been using t4r.org for quite a while to troubleshoot issues and thanks to all who have helped!
Now, just to let ya'll know, I have been searching for months about this and I have not found the specific answer I am looking for. I have a '13 sr5 with toytec ultimate kit (roughly 2.5-3in lift). I am most definitely getting 17x8 FN f (x) wheels I believe they have 4.5 backspace.
It's been obviously stated that 285/70/r17 will fit with maybe light fender liner mods. The chart on the first page shows 285's are in yellow and 275's are in green.
My question is: When everyone on this forum says the 285's DON'T rub, is this just mall crawling or is this at full flex? I would like 285s but i plan on actually using them offroad and if they are going to rub at that point I might just stay at 275.
And last and final- anyone live in Mountain country like SLC and recommend a skinny tire for the harsh snowy winters up to the ski resorts or does a 285 do fine? I have a chevy avalanche with 285s and it does fine in the slushy snow but it weighs significantly more!

Hi Emmett. I'll chime in here because I am going through this right now and am playing in the CO Rockies constantly.
I have a TEP with SCS SR8 wheels and 285 Duratracs, still at stock height... it rubs like hell when turning (especially noticeable in reverse because the tread catches stuff differently). A lift will probably resolve the rubbing for regular driving, but not when the front wheels are stuffed. I moved the fender liner forward as much as I could (probably 1") and trimmed the bumper plastic quite a bit (there's actually a service bulletin for TRDs if you google it). It's a super easy mod. However, I will need to chop the body mount to totally resolve rubbing. I am pretty sure I would have body mount interference with these tires regardless of rim.
As for 285s in the snow - they're amazing. Wider tires will handle better on snow than skinny tires; on ice, it's mostly a matter of rubber compound that dictates performance.
I can't speak to fitment with 275s, but just be aware that the options are limited. BFG and Nitto may be about it... and I'm not a fan of BFG for winter driving.

Hey all. I'm brand new to the 4Runner world. I've owned my truck about 2 weeks. 2016 4Runner SR5. I'm looking to lift it using the Toytec Boss kit so 2.5" - 3" up front and 2" in the back. I have a few questions. (1) will I need an adjustable rear track bar? (2) will these wheels work for me? I'm looking to run a 285/70/17 and I am not willing to do a BMC I will install new upper control arms as well but likely not right away.

Read the first post. Do your wheel calculations to determine difference between stock. The chart does not lie.
Also read the last several pages of this thread. In one post I talk about lift and modding to fit.

The question was more for the 0 offset of that specific wheel. I know the lift height and tire size won't be a problem at all. I also need a solid answer on the track bar. There's very little mention of track bars so I assume it's not required however I want to be sure before I find out the hard way. Thanks for your super helpful reply though.
