I think that people who think they know it all and they show NO patience for newbies are nothing but as*holes. YES,,, there are people out there who dont know how to use the search button...... surprise???????? yes..... many people struggle very hard to find a way to post a question..... many others do search and get overwhelmed with the many results they get.... we should show patience and grace..... and if anyone think they are too important to waste their time answering a question that has been asked before, simply they can shut the F* up and give some chance for other NICE people to take the lead and provide kind help and guidance. this is a forum .... it is meant to be for everyone.... regardless of their knowledge and level of experience..... no ONE has the right to determine the level of questions asked... or material posted..... very simple rule: if you want to answer a question.... go ahead,,,, if you dont.... shut up and let someone else do. if you dont like the thread.... do not read it.... and keep your filthy sh*** for yourself.... no one here is interested in seeing an arrogant POS giving hard time to a newbie just because they asked an innocent question

First off, this is the internet. That should be enough of an explanation. Its not a perfect environment, and there will be those who come here excited about their new purchase, and will neglect to do a search.

Secondly, while the search function here seems to work well (meaning >50% of the results are a match for your search criteria), often times unless you put in the exactly correct search criteria, you will not get the results you want.

THirdly:"I don't walk in to your home and start demanding things from you and your family, so what makes it okay for new comers to do it here?"

This is not your home, and if there are supporting memberships it does not like you have one, and your certainly not a moderator, so chill out and let the mods do their work. If they dont have the time to do that than there needs to be another moderator or two.

1) And those people shouldn't be offended when they are told to use the search function rather than just log on demanding information.

2) 50% of the time it works, and at least it shows effort.

3) I'm not a mod, I don't pay for anything here, and I have no authority whatsoever. Which sucks, because this all would have been deleted with a nice PM to the OP telling them their redundant thread had been deleted and they might use the search function to look for the thread on Mangowalk antennas. I'm not implying ownership, I'm stating that it's rude to virtually walk into a virtual place demanding specific information or answers without even trying to do the homework. It's rude and inconsiderate of the others who have come before who have already done the research and/or the work.

Make the effort, at least.

Or we can educate the newbies that don't know anything that there is a search function, that it works well, and that there is a good chance that they will find an answer to their question without having to struggle with the complicated process of posting (or spell check, or grammar check, or rational discourse) that some members appear to find challenging. I'd rather be the ******* teaching people the basics of the forum than the "nice" person who just ignores their post because I didn't want to hurt their feelings.

I don't think anyone is arguing with the importance of the search function or optimum and efficient posting... We all want this place to be organized and useable.

It's the manner in which it is done. First and foremost, above all; each person should be treated with respect. You can't disrepect someone then tell them it's their fault for being offended. The disrespect, the immature and emotional behavior; doesn't belong on a 'community' forum.

It basic common courtesy.

I truly don't see a 'newbie' coming on here and 'demanding' information and being rude, most ask very nicely. Maybe their forum etiquette/procedure is not 100% perfect but is that anyone's problem but the moderators? I think your view here is emotionally charged and I have no idea why. He asked a question about an antenna..

Most moderators on other boards ban folks for treating others like that, regardless of your sign-up date and post count. No one here was hired to be a vocabulary or grammar critic, or moderator of any kind.

The lack of insight and dissatisfaction with others response to their own behaviors here is very telling.
