H11-H9 9005-9011 Headlight Mod

My H9 low beams lasted approx 16 Months before one burned out last month (I drive a lot at night / 6+ hours per week). No complaints since the mods are so easy (and bulbs are rather inexpensive).

I also took the opportunity to finally swap in the 9011 High Beams I had since I initially installed the H9's back in Feb 2013 - Boy what a difference!

Such a nice and easy mod with appreciable real-world benefits IMO. :thumb3:

I saw this thread before, but was a little hesitant. Going to pull the trigger on the 9011's to go along with my TRS HID upgrade for my lows.....

Installed my 9011 HIR Bulbs today....definitely tell the difference!

I just did this mod this weekend and, I can definitely see a difference. Cost me about 30 bucks and about 1 hours worth of my time, but now my fogs are way brighter, especially towards the edges of the road.

Coming back to this threat.

I've used HID a lot in the past in a Jeep Wrangler and on my BMW motorcycles. I'm very familiar with them and I just don't know if I want to deal with them right now in my 2017 TRD Off-road Premium.

I'm looking this mod and love the simplicity.

Both the 9011 HIR and H9 are 65w. I believe the 9011HIR is around 2300lm and H9 is around 2100lm. The 9011HIR is a tad more expensive than the H9 on Amazon. Other than not having to mod the 9011HIR is there really a difference between the bulbs?

What kind of life span are people seeing with the 9011HIR or H9?
