Heinous hefty fabworks fab time

Ordered my bumpers back in June. Still waiting for them. I've had to chase down every communication with Hefty that I've had. Starting to get super frustrated. Will probably give them to the end of this week before I ask for a refund and go somewhere else.

All Hefty Fabworks Bumpers are built to order and require a minimum production lead time of 16-20 weeks. Lead times may vary depending on pre-order batch fullfillment. Pick-Up and In-Shop Installation is available.

maybe they didnt fill up the preorder yet.. LOL . I'm sure he will come up with a great excuse on why its late, and why hes not responding.

have their sliders, sold those. Have their skid plates.. worse transfer case skid plate design ever.

That is a lot of $$ to just have hanging out there. Did they require payment in full in advance??

Not as far as I know. I just felt like I was buying a great product from a great company and harboring the feeling of wanting to support those who are building and manufacturing things here in the US, I paid full in advance. Somewhat hopeful that would make them want to make sure all the boxes are checked and that I'm taken care of as a great customer. So far nothing like that. I have had communication with Chris via facebook messenger but, it's always been me chasing him down. I understand he's had a rough go of it lately with life but, there is still the matter of my money for bumpers. :/

Great product is about where it ends with them. And the preorder list thing is asinine, especially at darn near 3k for their rear bumper now.

I have their full steel skids also. I had grade 8/ 10.9 for everything in the shop so I replaced most the hardware.

I modified the transfer case skid.

I also had to cut and move the inboard rear hanger mount for the tank skid. The driveshaft would hit it when it was articulating.

But for the money they work and they have taken a beating.

I also had to cut and move the inboard rear hanger mount for the tank skid. The driveshaft would hit it when it was articulating.

But for the money they work and they have taken a beating.

wished i had the capabilities to modify this
the transfer case skid cannot be removed ever.. once it is, the hidden hardware.. will forever be hidden. poor choice of mounting location. My tank skid worked ok, everything was very tight and hear impossible to get on though.

with my pass experience with shops in the Car industry... Usually if theyre not answering calls its because theyre hammering away.

But if they dont answer emails and dont give updates... I've found myself on the losing end of that situation. Its looks pretty bad if they dont give you an update and dont return emails or phone calls. Especially when you just dropped 3G's of your hard earn cash...

I agree, but most all of these companies have a front office with someone who is not fabricating parts.

30 weeks wait.. its pretty damn long for him to keep chasing Chris down. Front and rear bumper are unlikely to arrive on the same skid. No idea why the front bumper ~14-16 weeks hasn't shipped yet.

Just like how i was waiting forever for my skids/sliders. To have them finally ship out separately. way past expected ship times.

I have chatted him several times on FB messenger and he does seem like a genuinely nice person. ...and his bumpers to seem to be high quality and doesn't look like anyone disputes that but, if I can't get the bumpers on my 4runner then they are of zero quality to me because that means I cannot make the trips I want to make with my 4runner and go to the places I want to go.

just realized. they no longer offer skids on the website?
Must have realized how bad some of their design was..

Just wanted to post an update, bumper and lights finally arrived at the mechanic's shop today. So, far all looks good. We'll see what happens when they go to put them on and get everything bolted down. 7 months, phew!

Last month I e-mailed Hefty to find out the weight of the sliders and if the 8-10 week lead time shown on the site was accurate/up to date. I got a response back in less than a few business hours with an answer and confirmation that lead times are accurate.

What did they say the weight of the sliders was? I can't find that info anywhere
