Help moving USB from center stack to glove box

I just picked up a '21 ORP and I came across this thread. Is there any update on running dual data from this port? I was wanting to move the USB from the center to the glove box, but I will occasionally use Android Auto.

Also, I was considering moving the 110v switch to the center stack, or the wiper defroster (haven't decided) as I would like to keep the left side of the wheel open for aux lighting.

any luck with this? I'd like to split the center stack usb and run one to the glove box. Keep both usbs for data, one in the glove box would be used for a wireless carplay adapter

Curious if anyone has successfully moved the USB port from the dash to the glove box on a 2021 or newer 4Runner?

I have a 2021 4R and use the AAWireless dongle and the cord drives me bonkers. Since I never need to unplug the dongle, I'd love to hide it in the glove box.

I tried to move my USB port after reading this thread and I got as far as trying to pop the port into the opening in the glove box only to realize that my USB port is much smaller than the opening. I could move it but I would have to leave it laying loose in the glove box and not snapped in place and secured. That wouldn't bother me, but curious if it could cause issues..?

Also.. since my USB port is so small, this presented another issue.. removing it from the original factory location in the dash leaves a small odd-shaped hole that none of the factory blanks (larger or small) will fit in. I haven't had any luck finding anything aftermarket that will fit either.

So if I do move my USB port to the glove box (laying loose and unsecured) I will be stuck with the small oddly shaped hole in the original position in the dash.

Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions??

Here's what I did in my 2021:
- Popped the USB port out from the center console lower piece

- Used a panel mount usb extension and moved the usb port to the center console by running it under the shifter console piece, and put my wireless carplay module in the CC. I drilled a hole through the center console bottom next to the existing 12v outlet to mount the USB port.

- Purchased a 2019 or earlier lower center console piece (P/N: 55406-35080), which has a normal Toyota sized switch opening.

- Put my anytime front/backup camera switch in that blank. But you could put any switch or even a blank in there.
