Saw a silverish/blue 3rdGen on my way back into town today that had Hilux badging including SSR5. Anyone know whose it might be? Looked pretty stock, but it caught my eye.

Maybe similar to mine, SURF tailgate and they have the carrier perhaps?? Especially if it's a 3rd gen I say that cause it's next to impossible to import RHD, trust me, I tried:juggle:

I looked for the rear hatch carrier lock and it was bare like ours and it definitely didn't have the tire carrier... I'm thinking it was just rebadged... but I'd like to assume it was a real one! Like a unicorn! Might have also had a AF decal on the rear window, couldn't make it out tho.

Not all Surf's come with a rear tire carrier. The ones without look just like the rear hatch of a 4Runner. The dead giveaway would be the RHD.
Looked exactly like that, but I didn't get a chance to see where the driver was situated.
If anyone wants sweet sweet genuine Surf accessories I'm in New Zealand, we have a plethora of excellent stuff for cheap - my 1KZTE (3.0 Diesel Turbo) Surf has the factory field monitor with compass/altimeter etc. and I'm sure a lot of that stuff would be cheap to pick up here - although you wouldn't want to ship the larger parts.
Let me know if there are any cool JDM bits you want, as our Surfs are pretty much all imports... Mine came with a cool mesh grille nudge bar that I don't see around very often...

I would just be finding one second hand, most likely on 'Trademe' - our version of ebay - and sending it over, so I could ship anything anywhere really - it's not something I usually do, I just like these forums and want to help people get stuff they can't ususally find...
