The Hitchgate fully swings out of the way of the vehicle and supports the weight of the tire wheel without the user having to. This means, wives, g/fs and children can still access the back of the vehicle without hating the driver. :dance:



The Hitchgate supplies a secondary hitch that allows towing a max of 7,500lbs and up to 750lbs of tongue weight and has been SAE rated.



The Hitchgate comes with a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner.



The Hitchgate doesn't move, wobble, bounce etc...it virtually becomes part of the vehicle.



The Hitchgate can also (with optional equip) carry up to 10 gallons of fuel in 2 Jerry Cans and also a Hi-Lift Jack.

I'm having troubles finding an HD v8 hitch for my 4th gen.
I can buy this instead and keep the original spare in stock location, and throw on a hitch mounted motorcycle carrier on this?

As long as your trailer hitch tongue weight can handle the weight of the moto, Hitchgate and carrier, yes.

As long as the weight of the moto and carrier doesn't exceed 750lbs.

With the moto carrier installed, the Hitchgate might not be able to swing open.

It gets around. Tried on a different outfit a few weekends after...which doesn't technically exist.

It actually does not move around at all. WILCO put these little rubber cylinder shaped bumpers on the main bar and in the pin holder hole. When you close the arm it creates enough resistance to prevent clanking.

Yup. Rubber bushing. The owner's pet peeve is clanging, rattling, clicking...must be SILENT.

Depends on the tire size. I think 33s will work on a center mounted. If you get any larger on the tire you will need an offset. (The rear door will not open)

I chose the offset because I moved the carrier closer to the bumper an inch by drilling a third hole in carrier. The tire barely clears the rear hatch.

Generally speaking, if your rear hatch is 53" or wider, you just have the offset.

But as has been mentioned, the larger your tires, the closer they'll be to the brake light when you open it.

Offset is almost always a safer idea and why we sell about 80% offset to center.

Hang on.... I just bought one of these. You do not need the wobble free device. It comes with the hitch gate.



Call WILCO, they will talk to you and answer your questions. Like do i need a center mount or an offset mount for my spare....

Also, does the Hitchgate have any mechanism to keep the gate open if you are not parked on level ground?

It's all in the latch design. I made a swing-out but I need to redo the latch on mine, I put all my stuff in the back seat instead of in the cargo area with how annoying it is to open. I'm not sure what the easiest design of latch would be, but I would think one you could easily operate with one hand would be the best.
