How do you feel about colored D-Rings and Winch Hooks?

I'm sporting some color on mine

Shackles

In my experience, the nut sacks hanging from the hitch is a national symbol for "I drive like an a$$hole".

No, not in my case. When my daughter was 16 she went out with a guy who didn't know that "no means no." I just put his on my hitch for awhile.

Back on topic: Colors can be useful and shackles are no exception. I had a black crescent wrench once. I took it underground into a mine with me. I don't have that crescent wrench any more. Now if any tool is going to get used in a location like that I put fluorescent zip ties on them. I like the pink ones.

I don't have any kids but if I did and my daughter told me some guy was pushing himself on her because he didn't know that "No means NO!", I don't think I would be able to handle it very well. I get pretty irate when I hear about women getting abused or taken advantage of by d-bags.

*Back on topic :D

Edit:
I have never been a fan of colored tools. I prefer good old fashioned steel without the paint on them unless it's a specialty tool. Some of the aircraft tools that we use are painted but that's a safety deal so they're easily identified and not left installed or laying around.

I doubt that he will ever misunderstand the meaning of a word again lol. That's why I use the colored zip ties. Temporary solution that works.

The red ones on here at least have a purpose.

Sounds like a Jeep thing...

I saw a newer black Cherokee (yeh, the new "car" version) with bright red hooks on the front. Not sure if it comes stock, an option or as a mod but first thing I thought was "Must be a Jeep thing because thats not even a truck." They were conveniently placed so that when (not "if") they need a tow they are easy to find.

it's much easier to explain to my 6 year niece what those colored shackles are then a set of balls swinging from a hitch...

plus I understand the red ones are good for 10 more HP

I like extra HP. Guess I need to get a ton of colored shackles to hang everywhere.

Side note: I don't mind the colored ones. I've been kicking around the idea of painting my hitch shackle a shade of green.

Mine was kinda nasty and faded so I painted it red

When I smoked, I carried a pink lighter. It never ever got stolen.

I've heard this plan hundreds of times and never once found it to be true, I think you were probably just lucky. Or maybe you always knew yours were pink and were better at calling people out on it.

if you intend to throw in matching disc brake covers...well...we're taking it to a whole new level (PLUS an additional 5 hp AND a ghost front locker)
Pfft covers... those are powdercoated calipers, son!

Don't forget the 2 rear D-rings or the little red condom on top of the FireStik II

:P

I didnt like the look of the bare metal silver look of mine so i painted em red to go with other red things on my runner.

Some people must also like them because one of them got stolen today. :50cal:
