Yeah I left at 6am this morning so I could get to the cities in time for work but this past weekend has been pretty crappy.

Boating is life! Jk its so relaxing to be out on the ocean with no worries. However my wife hates sailing with me because I like to try to dip the rail in the water......I have a Cal 34. Its not ideal for me but it was such a good deal I couldn't say no. My dad is the sea dog and has a Boston whaler 13ft and a newporter that's about 50ft. I just took her out last weekend.I felt bad because on the way back these guys lost their boat when the rope broke. I don't know how to fix that. I tried to help but the cops showed up and made me leave.

I have a 14' sunfish sailboat. One time I took it out I forgot to put the plug in..... Needless to say the captain went down with his ship that day. I laid a wreath in the water for myself.

I live by the philosophy that it's better to have a friend (or relative) with a boat than it is to have a boat. My parents pulled their 25' pontoon up this weekend and we spent a few days on the lake/river.
All a boat does is make a hole in the water that you have to keep throwing money in.
That said, I will eventually get a canoe set up for camping & fishing.

Totally agree, it's a money pit. I must have spent a small fortune, I don't even want to think about it. :fish:

That said, when you're out first thing in the morning before anyone else gets there, or at dusk after everyone else has left, the peace and serenity make it worth all the money spent.
I have a 79 Ranger that hasn't seen water in 5 years. Probably won't even run now. :sad:

My biggest complaint about moving to Colorado (besides the traffic) has been about the complete lack of water here. I grew up on several lakes. Everytime I go back home to visit friends and family, I make a point to get out on the water.
My family has a 21ft Bayliner for skiing, wakeboarding, and fishing smallies.
I'll be moving to the south-eastern coast next May. My first purchase after the move will be a center console for inshore and offshore fishing. I'm incredibly stoked to start salt water fishing. I've only salt-fished off piers and kayaks.

I have a small aluminum boat I use for fishing. Nothing fancy.
