I must be missing something on iPod controls

I am real late in learning, finally got my music loaded to my iPod. If you like jazz, the Dave Koz Summer Horns CD is off the chart great....

Back on topic, how on the world do I change artist with the wheel controls, not having to touch the iPod? I am connected via BT audio.

I read the manual, did not say much about shifting artist, scrolling through each album is easy, I got that down.

i dig Dave Koz, will check out that album

from memory, if it is like the iPod app on an iPhone, i think you can use the 'back' button (with the return arrow) to get to the main listing of artists...if that doesn't work, use your HU touchscreen to select 'artist' instead of 'album' and you can browse that way

i'm not in my vehicle, but i think this is how i do it

Unfortunately, using the BT feature in the 4Runner doesn't allow full functionality of the navi-system's Touch-screen, playlist, song selection, or remote ipod access control. To fully exploit the ipod's list of remote access features, the ipod MUST be connected via the 30 pin/USB connector. Connecting this way will allow all of the features that can be utilized directly from the ipod's touch-screen!

If your iPod features Siri, you may be able to use her to play your music with voice commands. To do so hold the 'call' button on the steering wheel and then Siri will prompt you to which you can say things like "play Dave Koz", or "play Summer Horns album. This at least works on my iPhone when connected via bluetooth and is quicker than the voice commands in entune when usb is plugged in.

Yes, this is the same for Lexus vehicles as well. It's really a shame, hopefully they at least make Apple Carplay or the like available on the new models.

Working now, got it. Interesting, the sound difference between the BT and USB is really different. IMO, the BT sounds better, but getting control at the wheel is great.

Thanks all that replied. Back to Summer Horns, they do a cover of 25 or 6 to 4 that is absolutely the best I have ever heard, better than the original, also cover Rise the has got to be heard.
