today i did the vsc/atrac/abs off mod. i did the method of damaging the factory wire.

i used this rocker switch in one of the blanks left side of steering wheel

i didnt get a pic, but as stated in other threads it took minimal shaving and fits great and looks great..

Using the switch, i liked it in sand or to have 2wheel fun as others have said, but i prefer just vsc off when doing steep hill climbs..

My 2006 4th Gen

Hey guys. New to the forum. I am a proud owner of a 2006 SR5 4x4. I got it in February from a Honda dealership in Ohio. I flew there and drove back roughly the 580 miles. It had 56,252 miles on the odometer. I gor it for $17990.00. Carfax stated no accidents and 1 owner. Very happy.

install was pretty simple just a little finessing them through the plastic housing, [MENTION=67365]Whitebeauty[/MENTION] advised me to push the bulb through the housing first, then put the socket on them, then lock them into place. they look great, lots of light, and super quick shipping.

10 piece led interior lights from classy auto on amazon $26 shipped
no instructions, but install was pretty simple, took me about 30 minutes for all of them.

ddm hid headlights w 5000k bulbs $55 shipped
shipping was fairly quick considering they came from china. no install instructions, was a little confusing at first but got it installed pretty easy. used zip ties for mounting. work great and bid difference in light and visibility.

daystar 2.5/ 1.5 spacer lift kit $160 shipped from autoanything.com
only thing I don't like bout autoanything, is they wont stop sending me emails even after ive opted out and asked them to remove me from their list.

I was hoping for a 2 hour install, it took me 4 hours even with impact gun, shop hydraulic jack, air ratchet, ratchet wrench, and plenty other useful tools.i followed the given instructions except on drivers side I had to remove the shock to insert the top 3 bolts into upper perch because the angle wasn't allowing it to go in. I had a bit of trouble on both sides getting the bolts that hold the lower control arm to the bottom of the ball joint, took me about 20 - 30 min each side. otherwise the front went as planned. the rear wasn't as easy as mentioned by others, and I don't know how you did it with prying. I used a spring compressor. this was definitely a two man job, and I wouldn't advise trying to tackle it on your own. I didn't get measurements prior to lift, but will get some today post lift.

Wires: 14 ga for the power leads, 16-18 ga for the relay interrupter/switch run
Various crimp on spade connectors, ring terminals, etc.
Heat shrink tube, various sizes for your wires/connectors
Aux Light Relay
In-line Fuse of some type, size appropriate for the total wattage of your light.
Single Pole Carling Rocker style switch
Zip ties
Solder, Soldering Iron, Electrical Tape
Crimper/stripper tool
Split loom if you want to make it look nice

A standard aux wiring kit from Autozone/Advance/CSK
should also work and include most of what Ed mentioned with the exception of the 14 ga wire for the power. For you 180W lamp a 15A fuse is recommended, I believe the kits I'm talking about include 20A. The standard 20A relay should work fine.

The connections don't have to be soldered as he said but it's not a bad idea if you have the knowledge and means.

The only wiring kit I saw at autozone didn't make use of a relay and was only good for a 7.5 amp or less total current draw, so I just made up my own wiring harness using the stuff I listed above. You might be able to find a higher quality one someplace else, but I didn't feel like hunting around for one. Plus, I figured since I was going to have to cut all of my runs to specific lengths anyway to keep the wiring nice and neat, I'd just do it all custom.

Most of my connections were crimps, but when joining wire-to-wire soldering is by far the best method.

That's strange. My local autozone, and the other stores I listed, all have kits that include fuse, relay, switch, and 16-18 ga wiring. I just searched the websites and couldn't find them easily though, so I suppose they are not available everywhere. I believe I did see the kit you were talking about though and yeah that wouldn't have been a good idea.

edit- I usually just follow one of these two diagrams and pick up the pieces at an auto store since I always have leftovers and don't like the switches with those kits.

That is very similar to the one I used. The only real additional step with regard to the illuminated switches is that you have to pull an additional +12V lead from your interior dimmer/illumination circuit. Or, if you don't mind the switch being lit up ALL the time, just pull it from your +12V acc on circuit. I wired mine so that I could run the light any time with the truck on or off, and that the switch would only be illuminated when the rest of the buttons lit up (headlights on)
