Lol....I did the same last time I did the swap. I was dumb and in a hurry.....had to get another rotor.Tried replacing my thin brake pads all around with Akebono Performance pads. Was in a hurry unfortunately and made the biggest rookie mistake, installed one of the rear pads backwards so the backing plate was rubbing against the rotor.
I noticed it making some weird noises when driving.
I dug the smashed backing plate from where it was riding between the dust shield and the rotor, rebent the tabs around the pad and put it all back together. Hopefully the rotor surface isn't too tore up but it looked pretty bad to me.

Helped my brother weld a rear bumper to his FJ. He designed it and it tucks up high against his 1.5" body lift so it's about as high clearance as you can get. Basically just 2 rectangle tubes welded together in place of the factory crossmember we cut off. I did the machining at work for the receiver tube and light holes. I really wanted to do this style of bumper for mine but I want the side sliders like found on the 4x4Labs so a full side plate is necessary.
How much do you think you spent in materials for you’re front bumper? Thinking of eventually doing a prerunner type in the future so I figured I’d start gathering some info

So driving to work one cold and spitty morning, I turned on my windshield wipers for a second, then switched them off. But they didn't turn off... I pulled the fuse to get them to stop, and ordered a replacement windshield wiper stock off ebay, $100. It came in today, so I tore apart the steering column and took the old switch out, and noticed a contact inside was smudged with grease. I cleaned it up and plugged it back in. Voila it worked! Now I'm stuck with a brand new windshield wiper stalk that I might keep until I'm confident my original one won't break again and then sell it on ebay maybe.
Looks like some electronics in the stem. You able to tell if speed is regulated at the stalk or at a relay elsewhere? Interested in adding a mist function 'cause it bugs me it doesn't have one when my '98 did.
Can you send/post a picture of the connector on your spare stalk? Want to compare to one with the mist function. It's looking like all the important functions are internal to the stalk so swapping to a stalk with mist function should work if the connectors matchWell when I had it in my hand testing it out, I felt a small click every time the wipers activated so I'm guessing thats a timer or relay or something.

Which bottle did you go with? It's about time I get one......Today I installed the SpeedoHealer in my dash and a small washer fluid bottle off Amazon connected to the stock harness and relocated under the hood. I've been running without a washer bottle ever since I installed my bumper.
It's weird now, my speedometer being accurate. Followed BlackWorksInc 's guide http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/178078-speedohealer-v4-4th-gen.html
Oh yeah, also ordered a 4x4Labs DIY rear bumper on Friday...

Looks like a great idea for the tank. Only concern would be a rear end collision, but then again a lot of vehicles have the tank towards the back.
