IPhone Users: OBD2 app with Transmission temps.

Did you by chance get it working ?

I'm getting the same error on my 2000 SR5 v6.

And Im using the this reader : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077F8F6TB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
AZBub what OBDII reader are you using ?

I'm using an iphone X with 12.1.3 with the original Foseal (not the updated version) Funny thing for me is the Foseal would work with an older Samsung Tablet (Android) but then it quit working altogether. I was positive the adapter was bad but after reading your comments I'm not so sure. I'm waiting on a replacement from Amazon, I'll keep the post updated.

Please let me know if the replacement unit works for you.

I really want to get this working, as I would much rather use this than spend a ton of money on a scan gauge .

Are you absolutely sure you did a user defined PID and filled out ALL the info correctly?

100% sure

So the replacement connected fine but I still could not get the Trans Temp working on an iphone or ipad. I'm starting to think it's a Foseal issue

Yes, I'm 100% sure I filled it out correctly. Did it about 2-3 times now from start to finish without luck. The regular gauges for speed, fuel eco, rpm's all works, but not the user defined PID.

I'm gonna try it again once more tomorrow for good measure. If no luck, I'm returning the Forseal unit.

Shame. This seemed like a decent and much cheaper alternative to an SG2.

Yes, this does seem like a much cheaper alternative to the Scan Gauge, hence I'm attempting it first before going any further. I would still much prefer this than the SG2 as I can pull it out and plug it in when ever I need it, otherwise I just have it in my glove box.

I also get the "No data was received" error message. I have a BAFX wifi unit with OBD Fusion on iOS 12.1.3. Other displays appear to be fine.

weird that some people get this to work and some do not. I can not think of anything else I did to get it to work other than changing the formula for accuracy. Make sure enable commands is on. There might be an issue cause it’s an unsupported PID. that’s all I can think of.

Tried it again today for good measure with no luck.

Enable commands is turned on as well.

Going to return my unit and order the same one from the link shared by the OP and see if that works.

If not , then SG2 seems to be the next option.

Mine did not work either when inputting the code but I'm able to monitor the trans temp in my 99 after buying and unlocking the toyota features that are built into the app. The shitty thing is the trans temp doesn't display with the rest of the monitors. I have to log into the "network a" setting in order for the trans monitor to work.

AZBub i just ordered the exact same unit as yours.....

Lets hope this one works.

Really don't wanna spend $150 on a Scan Gauge II

I really hope it works. I’ve been using mine to argue with the shitty workmanship the shop i got my reman from did. One week it it never sees temps over 195 but hunts for gears and throws p0770 then after I take it to the shop those things are fixed and it runs 210-235. F emmm L

This shop insists there is NO WAY to get transmission temperatures from a 2000 toyota......

Damn, wonder what the hell is wrong with that remanufactured tranny. Could the mesh filter in there be clogged up ? either way, thats a 20C jump out of the blue. good thing you have that scanner.

I have to log into the "network a" setting in order for the trans monitor to work.

So I got mine working by doing exactly that. Once I logged into Network A I found the AT Temp setting under the Toyota/Lexus,Scion PID section, loaded it up and configured the Gauge. I then logged back out of Network A and logged into the Default connection and it all worked!

You were able to get your AT gauge to work along with the default gauges? my ATM temp only works when I log into Network A, it shows nothing when in default connection. How did you get them to work at the same time?

So I setup the AT Temp while on the Network A, disconnect, then reconnect under the Generic OBD2 and everything worked. That's it, I wasn't expecting it to work at all but it does

So , after trying over and over , I went ahead and bought the Toyota/Scion pack through the app. Kinda stupid that it’s extra but I really wanted to get this working.

After buying the pack , it scans the PID’s and finds everything.

So boom!!!! Got it working to get trans temps and so much more too.

Total cost = roughly $40
- $20 forseal obd2 gauge
- $10 OBD fusion app
- $10 in app purchase for Toyota/Scion

Please see my most recent post.

I got the transmission temps working, but I had to get the in-app purchase for the 2000 Toyota/Scion pack. Its an extra $10 but it works!

Yeah mine's either/or. Either I'm in Network A and it works or I'm in Generic and it doesn't. It doesn't cross over for some reason. Maybe because I'm using an iPhone? What device are you running it on?
