It's time for a HID Retrofit

Like the title says it's time for a retrofit. The plug and play HID's look tacky and don't give a good enough light concentration. So I've read through some other threads reading up on this task. I have developed some questions...
1. Where do I purchase a 1999 clear front headlight housing?
2. I know where I'm going to purchase the kit from which is TRS.com and their description is kind of vague...so what does LHD and RHD stand for?
3. What wiring harness should I get?
4. What size of Halo ring should I get?
5. Also what type of shrouds should I get?

PS- Im looking at buying the BI-XENON MORIMOTO MINI STAGE III KIT (H1)

North America is Left Hand Drive = LHD. Clear headlights can be had on partouts in the classifieds for OEM or a common replacement is TYC for aftermarket. Rockauto has good prices on those. The size of the Halo depends on which shroud you choose and whether it's going on the outside of the shroud or inside the shroud so it can shine thru the vent openings.

Also a no brainer. H4 harness. Don't forget that TRS also answers questions through their email system and provides exact responses and even suggestions for some products not listed on the website that they will add to a custom invoice for you.

3rd gen looks good with a larger projector like the mini 3.0 d2s. but a smaller 2" projector like the mini h1 can also work.

basically any size can work, the shroud is what makes up the illusion of size.

amber halos on front of hogh beam projectors

NOTE: personal experience, i dont like h1, bulb hole is super small. only thing that fits in it is hid bulb. regular h1 will not work because lack of ground tab, leds will not work and output sucks compared to all the others i have done.

quad projectors, look good, dont recommend doing it. no need. PITA to get level and just right

got moisture? buy the byutle sealant. but spring loaded clamps. ask questions or make you tube your friend. buy a set of extra headlamps and try it first. if you can succeed...PM me and i can do it for you i need to get a 3rd gen under my belt. btw working on another 5th gen right now

Especially since its your first retro, you dont need to cut the housing for the D2S.

Negative, the FX-R is a clone of the Infiniti FX projector, thus it's name. The Hella projectors are commonly Audi/Volkswagen/BMW.

I've done my retrofit with a kit from ebay and it was a breese, 4hours and it was done. Good luck with your instalation

hmm. really? i didnt know this. they look just like the FX-R

i must get that set of busted fx45 headlights i have sitting in the garage opened! its been 3 years sitting there collecting dust
