I've searched all over...

Anyone running a 16x8 wheel with 4" backspacing on a 285/75/r16 tire? preferably a pic with a 3" lift on a 3rd gen obviously.

I have LC wheels with 285s and 3in lift, not sure if the backspacing is 4 or 4.5 though.

Here's one. I don't think the backspacing of a wheel matters for looks. Check out the 3rd gen pictures thread and check out one's on 285/75's.

Backspacing matters for both looks and functionality. The smaller the backspacing, the further the wheel will stick out past the fender. While this can prevent rubbing of the UCA, it can make it easier for the tire to rub the bumper and pinch weld when turning.

The more backspacing, the closer in a wheel will sit. This can cause the tire to rub the UCA. There are a few that have successfully run a wheel with as little as 3.5' backspacing. There are also some that have run Tacoma wheels with 4 7/8" BS...although a wheel spacer would be helpful in that situation.

The perfect BS for the 3rd gen seems to be between 4"-4.5" when running a 285. While there are a few people running a 4" BS, it is more common to have 4.5". Many more wheels are made at 4.5". Take a look at this thread...there are some 4" BS with pics, as well as 3.5" and 4.5".

This is what I run it is a 17 and not a 16 but it is 4” back spacing. I do have the LR upper control arms so I dough 4” BS will clear the stock arm with a 285. It is extremely hard to find a 4” BS aftermarket wheel that is reasonably priced. Most are custom BS and are expensive.

16X8 BLACK Toyota Steel Wheels These are what I have in type B. Not really that expensive if your into steelies.

I also ran these with 285/75r16s on stock upper control arms for 3 years with zero problems.

They Fit perfectly with 285/75/r16's BFG KM2's, I was afraid they were going to stick out super far out of the wells, but it sits oh so nice!

Looks good! I was afraid of the same thing with 8.5 wheels with 3.75 backspace but am very pleased with them.

What would I need to do to get 16x8s on a stock 2001 SR5?
